There is zero reason for Woodson to get his 4th year if there is a verbal agreement with another coach. Zero. The cons of his 4th year absolutely outweigh any positives. If this is the state of IUBB for next year, I will not make a point to watch the games after the inevitable three game stretch where the same issues from the past three years appear. He is who he is, and he’s not getting the job done. Supporting the program with my time and energy with CMW at the helm is pointless to me. Mediocrity gets old. 

Exactly. There was never any reason to hire him in the first place but here we are. 
If he had a top 5 recruiting class on the way, I would understand giving him time but he doesn't. Even if he did, and if I'm Dolson, Woody would still need to come into my office after this pathetic year and knock my balls off with excitment for the future to keep his job. 
The fact that it may already be a certainty that he's getting another year is as nauseating as it is stupid. Get some cajones like the OSU admin and cut your losses. Time to move on.

Throwing big money at Bennett would be an absolute waste. It doesn't matter what NIL money you have, you won't be able to spend on any talent because he won't recruit it and kids don't want to play in games of 45-40. Scott Drew? More likely. He plays a more modern style. We as fans would be screaming at the TV because of Bennett, just like we did with Archie and do now with Woody. Pathetic offenses.

If he is back we will get to watch Sisley and Mullins pick other schools. Woodson will go after 15 five star players and strike out next fall. Rinse and repeat and the results will be the same.

My opinion (not that it matters) on Woody would definitely do a 180 if he agrees to ‘retire’ at the end of this season. 

For Woody's sake, I would hope they would announce something before the Michigan St game so the fans could give him the standing ovation which I think would be deserved for doing the right thing. 

Folks are trying to talk themselves out of Pearl. Don’t. He’s a winner. Simple as that. He’s won at every single school he’s coached at. If he comes to IU he will win here too. Guaranteed. Now, he may only win for 5-6 years before he retires, but he will win. And you know what 5-6 years of winning does to the IU job? It makes it a helluva lot more attractive for the next hire.

Maybe that is the problem it's not a hump but a Hill we can't get over. Get rid of Arman and it will be smooth sailing.

Also, he might want guards in the portal but other coaches are going to point out how awful our offense has been and say do you want to go play in that. 

Also family members of players are starting to let people in charge know that they are tired of their kids being called out in public to the media. It's one thing to do it behind closed doors but it's another to tell the media the kid played awful. 
Woody won't talk about himself being awful this year or take any accountability at all for this horrible roster, or the coaching this season. I think that will make kids enter the portal too if he is retained.

Coach - tough season, but let's take a look at the larger picture.
You united the old and new amongst the fanbase. You made Coach Knight a regular presence around the program before his unfortunate passing. You took us to 2 straight tournaments after a 6 year drought, including a protected seed. You pushed a kid that wasn't on draft boards to a lottery pick in one season, and put TJD in a position to be drafted. You brought Ware in for one season and have him in a position to be a first round pick as well. You've opened up a recruiting line to Monteverde. You swept Purdue in a season everyone expected them to be soundly better than us. You've significantly improved our schedule and have us playing in games against Kansas, Arizona, UConn, and the Kentucky series is back on the books. You've got us playing in a premier non-conference event like the Battle for Atlantis, where we usually only played in the Maui every 5 years or so. You know Indiana is a brand in college hoops that belongs in big time games and events like that, and you made it happen. We can't thank you enough for the position Mike Woodson has put this program in. When we set out on this journey, we both knew the timeline would be fluid. I think we both know that now is the right time to take the next step as a program, and we're well positioned to do that with the foundation you've built. Here's a check for what we've agreed on. Here's a bottle of the finest Italian Tempernillo Big Red sells. I've already booked your tee time for one hour from now. Enjoy retirement, Coach!
