  1. That’s a logical explanation. But one that also results in Dan Jockitch being wrong. Adding a couple clarifiers to his black and white statement would make it less rigid. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Or for those who don’t choose to be miserable on a minute by minute basis, we almost won at Arkansas and beat NW. Wild how that works. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Not to be argumentative, but “very special player” and staying more than one year are usually mutually exclusive. Excited we have him, but I will only expect and hope for one year - want him to get the league! Anything after that is a pleasant surprise for the fans! 5. Mid-January, same as every year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. I don’t think it’s that crazy if Romeo stayed a second year considering the Duke trio have the top 3 picks essentially locked up. Romeo could potentially go top three next year if he stayed IMO. Glad Indiana had some incredible talent last year and this year to recruit. Amazing that Archie has suddenly and drastically locked down the border. Will be interesting to see how he plays next years class. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. In what way was he right? He said UofL would announce Brohm on Monday. That’s black and white, no grey area. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Part of the reason I really don’t want to have these conversations is because if one of the most promising young coaches in college basketball can’t find success at Indiana, we have a real serious problem on our hand. Not sure how many more chances Indiana has to get this right. Imagine how disillusioned the fan base would be if they were told Archie was the wrong guy but this time, this time we got the right guy. Woof. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  11. Which academic rankings are people referring to? Is there a link/source that is considered more legit than others? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  12. Haven’t we had countless individuals more qualified to speak to the importance of a shared weight room state that this is not even remotely an issue? This is a rhetorical question. The answer is yes, yes we have. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. Correct. As with any team, looking at the results of single games is not a great indicator of an entire season. It feels as though your approach to disprove my above point is purely reduction ad absurdum. Feel free to respond to the overall point, otherwise see you at the end of the season when we have a proper data set to discuss the success or failure of Archie in year two. 14. Which was exactly what was expected by anyone with a shred of objectivity going into last season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Yep - one game. It happened and it sucked. Team still improved over the course of the year. Does that one game disprove my point? I don’t know - depends on how cynical or worried you are I guess. There’s no right answer. Just stating why I’m not worried 7 games into Archie’s second year at the helm. 16. I really can’t stand Dakich. He’s a paid professional who is too arrogant to do his job well. He takes the “you’re with me or you’re wrong” approach to everything, and I’m really quite certain I’ve never seen him own up to something as say he was wrong. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. The only “proof” is the improvement of last year’s team from November to April. Remember the lows this team produced early on? We still missed the tournament, but no one believed the roster assembled was going anywhere under any coach in 2018. From the stand point of who is ready to contribute now, this is mostly that same team with a freshman PG being asked to fill the starter role immediately and a 5* guard who is clearly having some growing pains coming to college. Before the season began I was not convinced we fully solved our immediate PG needs no matter how great RP becomes. We also still do not have any rim protection given Davis is barely back from his Achilles injury. These were major gaps and issues last year, and were, understandably, only partially addressed over one off season. I feel many let their expectations grow after the Marquette game beyond what they were during the off-season, and that has created room for outsized disappointment. The last four games have been ugly, although they “won” the second half of the Duke game and were a tip-in away from a really strong road win. Finally, I expect to see similar improvements between now and April, just like last year, which is why despite the concerning play I am not worried. If this team has not grown come April, then I’ll join those asking what the hell is going on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  19. 7 games into year 2 - we aren’t making the tournament. Sounds a bit dramatic, right? Let’s get the team back healthy and fully loaded before we panic. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. Has he regressed or not developed? Regardless, you shifting the argument. I still have plenty of patience for Archie. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. This is also true, but it’s tough to truly put that whole class on him. By the time he came on board, it was critical to retain the class. Maybe he could have landed Wright? But that’s pretty risky at that point. All I’m saying is have some objectivity. 10 of 14 is misleading. 7 of 14 is probably too lenient. That said, look at who the biggest offenders of sloppy play are to date: Smith and Green, and who knows what’s going on with Clifton. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  23. For sure. So far, we have one season each to compare. Looking forward to completing season two! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. Something something something bury me upside and kiss my... something. I hate Duke and their self-righteous, hypocritical, conman, Coach “I do things the right way” K. Coach “there’s no cheating in college basketball” K. Coach “there’s no advantage to coaching the Olympics teams” K. Coach “leave Grayson alone you meanie butts!” K.
