Corruption in College Basketball
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I know people believe this will be swept under the rug, but it really feels like the hyenas (the less dirty coaches) are about to turn on Scar (Coach K, Roy, Self, Calipari) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Depends why they’re doing it. Some people are good hearted and some aren’t. I believe VO is a good hearted person, and genuinely wants to do good and help. However, there are plenty of examples of celebrities having selfish and hateful reasons for promoting their beliefs as you’re alluding to as well. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Oh look, Indiana 4th best recruiting base. Number 1 and 2? Rutgers and Maryland. No one panic, but East Coast recruiting seems to be consider better! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Maybe the problem is that you consider yourself a grown man and worship 17 and 18 year olds. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Morgan Ellison to miss rest of spring season
Walking Boot of Doom replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I’m not saying we should automatically persecute someone the second a claim from a victim comes forth. I am saying we need to give way more credence to those claims than some in our society, and government, current apply. End of the day, Indiana has way more information about this, and I’m confident they made the correct decision. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I hope I’m not either, but I am aware of the risks of engaging in certain behavior. Not believing women is even more dangerous. Rape culture exists for a reason. There are reasons that you could imagine, but they’re all highly unlikely. You’re assuming the victim determined that they wanted to ruin a young man’s life for a petty act. That’s a wild assumption. To Joe - Ask yourself, what does this woman have to gain by lying about any of this? Literally nothing. Stop and ask yourself these questions, and it becomes clear why believing the victims is so important. Due process is needed in the courts. -

And it was Morgan Ellison's dumb decision to get drunk and engage in sexual activity with another drunk woman. As you said, there are consequences to the dumb decisions you make. Being raped isn't a decision. You're taking a very hard stance with very little evidence or support of your stance. Those with way more information that you decided to take action that very heavily impacts the life of a young student athlete, a consequence I am certain they understand the gravity of. It is he said, she said, and a group of individuals decided that what she said was supported strongly enough to remove someone from their school. Going to college and being a student athlete is a privilege. The panel clearly decided that Ellison had violated the terms of that privilege. Personally, good riddance. Hope he receives counseling and help, and I hope she receives the help she needs as well. Removing Ellison is a good first step. -

You’re right, you know more about the facts than a panel of people involved in the situation. And I’m sure you have a perfect understanding of the situation to disregard the assault claims. Do yourself a favor and look up the statistics around false sexual assault charges. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Educational institutions have special privileges and responsibilities to protect their students. Law enforcement also cannot do anything unless the victim presses charges. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
On UCLA “it’s the biggest stage if your perform well there you can really make something for yourself” That’s clearly Alford’s sales pitch and it’s completely false. LA is the biggest stage sure. UCLA is.... well it was. And it hasn’t been for a while - certainly not under Alford. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Walking Boot of Doom replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I understand that as well. Previously, individuals were over emphasizing the impact of our locker rooms on the experience of recruits, especially given we have Cook Hall. It was mainly sarcastic, but everyone is allowed to take this as seriously or sarcastically as they like! As long as we all agree that we’ll never land another 5 star as long as drop ceilings exist on this campus. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
