GAs had the OU/Bama scouting reports done and on Cig’s/Haines’/Shanny’s desks before the sun rose this morning. They’ll do deep dives on both teams the next two weeks, be ready for either, THEN get a full 10 days of prep for the winner with a fresh game of tape in what should be a really competitive matchup on the 19th. It would be annoying if we didn’t have over 3 weeks to prep, but it’s not a concern imo.

And 2 of the 5? On 3rd down. The type of defensive performance that needs to have everyone beating the drum for IU to be the favorites. We won’t play a better offense than that the rest of the way.

The Dipo abides. 46% (plus 1/1 on 4th down) vs 33% (0/1 on 4th down). TOP was dead even, total yards dead even, first downs dead even, turnover battle dead even. We won 3rd downs, we won the game.

Rose Bowl ticket requests are open in season ticket holder accounts. Priority deadline is Thursday. Maximum of 4 per holder, I put in my request (a lot cheaper than I paid this morning) and will see what happens.

At least 7 schools (including teams with a 5-7 record) have turned down a Birmingham Bowl bid. Watching bowl season die before our eyes. Was a heck of a run.

On nothing other than vibes and just watching games, I have a gut feeling that Tech is a lot better than people are expecting and beat the piss out of Oregon. Tech’s defensive front is insane.

I wonder how poorly the IU ticket office is going to handle our allotment at the Rose Bowl. Good luck to anyone relying on it, but that question is what led me to buying secondary market tickets at 6 this morning.

I really thought Fernando was dead after the first play. Had the pit in my stomach I had when Tyrese was screaming and punching the floor in game 7. To come back after that shot and make the throws that he made…unbelievable. All the obvious national awards and whatnot, but like…IU Athletics Hall of Fame type stuff. Hit was legal too, imo.

Penn State also just got turned down by yet another coach. Kraft/PSU money people really stepped in it on this one. Real shame.

JMU had a pretty massive offer/roster commitment on the table for Bob. Money isn’t an issue there.

I’m a big Sumrall guy. Florida needs to work with him instead of actively sabotaging the program because their money people didn’t like the hire. I have a feeling they’ll be right back on the carousel in 3-4 years though.
