    A 6th reason: there will be better QBs than Alberto in the portal. I don't dislike Alberto, but any staff worth its salt is always looking at ways it can improve the roster.

    100% As for the style aspect mentioned above, it’s worth noting that Cig had some DAMN good JMU teams with QBs that leaned more toward running. Jordan McCloud was a dawg. Todd Centeio was too. The Doza/Rourke build has been good to us, but don’t think we’re married to it either.

    Pretty nuts when the first major "name" to allegedly go portaling (Leavitt) immediately is getting penciled in as IU's next starter by non-IU people online. Right, wrong, indifferent it's just a wild perception shift.

    I'm below you and just now received an email that I won't have the opportunity to request B1G tickets. No biggie, wasn't planning on going anyway. No mention of quarterfinal tickets assuming we get a bye, which I'm absolutely planning on doing regardless of how I have to get tickets. I'm sure that'll be something we hear about after the selection show anyway.

    They definitely have a points cutoff built-in then. You and I are pretty far apart on that list, but there's a predetermined line in there somewhere. I only have a first round home game option with my season seats.

    From a long range forecast standpoint, for whatever that's worth, looking to be another weather game of some sort. Either ice cold, wet, or both. Right around Thanksgiving things are supposed to get wintry in these parts.

    I swear I’ve heard or read somewhere that they have a ton of people ready to throw money at the program and just need a good reason. Not sure if that’s even true, but their fan support through some really bad years leads me to believe it is.

    Glad he got paid. Those knees were probably never surviving a long NFL career unfortunately.

    Smith will be interesting (and it'll be a good conversation to have during all of our upcoming time off) because Dane Brugler has him as a top-50 player in this draft class in his updated rankings from last week. And it's being billed as a weak tackle class overall, so if he thinks he'll test well he could really quickly find himself in the 1st round.

    Their lead assistant is Tony Barbee who has coached all over and played at Indy North Central. Probably a connection in the department somewhere there. Another connection; their head coach Shane Heirman was the coach at La Lumiere for a little bit and before being the head guy was an assistant there under Alan Huss who’s part of the McDermott/Creighton tree with DDV.

    Texas has played UGA 3 times in the last year. They have 83 rushing yards total.

    Carter Smith was 2 measly yards away from breaking the trend.

    I watched him absolutely rip a guy (a fan, mind you) a new one on Georgia Street a handful of years ago at the Final Four for calling him Dakich. Start with that and see where the night takes you.

    I kind of can't believe that, through all the coaching carousel articles I read, neither Shanahan nor Haines ever get mentioned. Cig is the story, he's the CEO, but those two make this program go. They're guys that get picked up in the second wave of the carousel, but it's crazy to me that we read about the Collin Kleins of the world and nothing about either of our guys.
