The Sky Is Not Falling, But our Fanbase however...

Me and my good buddy probably bring this up 2-3 times a year. Sampson would have won a natty here. -

I’m as frustrated as anyone but name a coach that comes in, is told he HAS to retain and recruit players that don’t fit his style of play whatsoever. Then he has the most extreme case of roster availability ive ever witnessed. To top this off, the players he was told he must retain, are causing turmoil inside the locker room. Deron Davis is obviously the most important piece to helping balance our offense. How’s his health been all season. My emotions run wild after these losses but then I sit back and look at the situation as a whole and I can’t think of more than MAYBE 1-2 coaches who I believe can make this season a success. Do I think Archie should be getting more out of what he has? Yes! But I’m not familiar with the behind the scenes issues this team is facing and they matter. I hold out hope in knowing that he turned Dayton into a consistent winner with time. Also, it goes a long way with me, that the Dayton fans miss him and didn’t want to see him go. They are one of the nations more knowledgeable fan bases. I trust their experience with Archie. This season just needs to be thrown in the dumpster, forgotten and never to be spoken about ever again. Cut the tumors out, medicate and allow the young coach the space to fix the issues that his predecessor placed at his feet. I’d be completely satisfied and supportive if Archie got rid of a FEW players and started with a new clay. This approach won Villanova 2 national titles in 3 years. Ill reserve my judgement on Archie until the end of 4 years. Some don’t have that patience. I question whether I can make it that long but I’m gonna give it a go. Because it’s the sensible thing to do. We have the weight of 30 years of mediocrity to shake off. It’s time to realize that this isn’t happening in short order. We aren’t a program that guys are going to leave historic NBA franchises or already successful and established programs for. Not happening. The sooner we come to terms with this fact, the sooner we can contribute to our reestablishment as an elite program. Otherwise just piss and moan and be miserable with your existence. I love Indiana Basketball but my life is completely fulfilled regardless of the number in the W column. I’ll go on a limb and say Archie Miller answers the bell In year 3. He’s a proven commodity in his time as a HC. This season is the definition of an outlier, as it relates to his body of work. -
Exactly. I’ve suspected for months that Green and Smith were our tumors. Imagine a Keion Brooks playing Smiths position.... too bad. This epic collapse cost us Keion. He is indeed gone to UK.
-
That’s a smart move imho.
-
I don’t necessarily disagree. I just don’t think either kid has really separated himself from one another.
-
I think it’s a toss up between the 2. I think both would be stellar at doing what they would be asked of them at IU. Galloway is a proven winner. I’d be happy with either or.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Really had a shot at this kid....then the ceiling collapsed on our heads. This is going to get bad. Say what you want. Archie crapped his pants with Romeo. Yes he is scoring points. He was going to do that no matter where he went but he’s been really under utilized here. This could be the kiss of death for Archie at Indiana -

Apathy has sunk its roots in deep with me. I wouldn’t shed a tear if the university folded the basketball program for the rest of my days. It’s been nothing but pure embarrassment and disappointment my entire time as a fan. Indiana Basketball is a corpse. At this point I’m convinced that there are folks purposely making decisions to keep us from being elite again. Oh well. The NBA is incredibly entertaining now and baseball season is underway. -

I have to say..... I decided not to watch at all today..... just checked in and seen it was a massacre. Thankfully I preserved my Saturday. Easier than I thought. Guess I’ll just see you folks next year. This season is over. -
Wondering the same thing.

He looks like that almost every game. Also, he is a horrible basketball player. He’s good at jumping high and occasionally playing defense. Outside of that he is just a warm body. Makes me sick to think we have to deal with 2 more years of him. Archie was dealt a rough hand in many ways but he’s crapping the bed. You can see it in his face that he knows he’s outclassed. This job is way too big for him. He and Coach Holtmann have both struggled in year 2 but it’s not even close who the better coach is. It’s Holtmann. Has Archie ever coached a great offense? Bc this is one of the worst brands I’ve ever watched as an IU fan. Crean’s offense was MUCH more exciting. I really feel sick for saying that.
-
True.....still can’t stand him.
-
We are so trash.
-
Yeah but Smith’s father says he needs to be more involved in the offense.

I just don’t buy that Jake and Clif haven’t been good enough to get more minutes this season. They may seem lost at times but they play hard and will get better with game experience. Justin Smith is one of the most useless players I can remember at IU. He’s AWFUL! Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

We HAVE to get meaningful minutes (and fouls)from Clif and Jake, otherwise Morgan will be sitting the entire 1st half. Not sure why but I have a feeling that we play well. Don’t think we’ll get the W but I have a feeling this will be a game. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

I rely in AI and machine learning in my business, to deliver a much higher quality prospect. It gives me a competitive advantage. I’d love to see this develop.

From an optics standpoint, it was a very bad miscalculation of words. Allen, irregardless of his character, was an AWFUL hire! We will be bad for a long time bc of that hire. Archie Miller was a good hire in my eyes but he ia really struggling to get the most out of the talent he’s left with. His recruiting has been off the charts so far, so I’m inclined to give him another year or two to see a positive trajectory. Another point that still needs to be re-emphasized, is the injuries and roster challenges this season. If you think this season isn’t completely different with a healthy Jerome Hunter, Race Thompson, Robert Phinisee, Zach McRoberts, Devonte Green, then I think you’ve let your emotions get the best of your judgement. I will concede the fact that Archie should be getting more out of what we have bc other coaches are doing this with less overall talent. Sad being an IU fan. Embarrassing really.
