Indiana vs. Wake Forest Game Thread
HoosierTrav replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's pathetic. I knew I shouldn't have allowed myself to be encouraged from our first 3 games. I expected this against Vandy. Not Wake Forest. -

Uhhh yeah... We are going to struggle with size again this year. Especially when Troy plays the 4. -

Yikes! We look terrible. -
I said the same thing about Maryland this weekend. The hype received in the preseason versus how good they are compared to the field feels a lot like the 2012-2013 Indiana Hoosiers

If I had to pick one player that I think TB reminds me of, I would say he's is Anderson Varajeo -
Indiana vs. Maryland Post-Game Thread

Looked like I missed a good one. Had to convert the lawnmower into the snow thrower. Good win. One more and we are bowling. -
I agree. BUT the 2011-2012 team absolutely peaked at the right time. Just ran into a buzz saw in Kentucky, yet still had a chance to win that game, if it wasn't for the INSANE disparity in FT attempts between the two teams..... we make that ending much closer to a similar ending than the ending of the one in Bloomington That one still irks me. Us and UK were playing at a level beyond any other team in the nation at the time. We met in the Sweet 16. Bummer.

Due to the level of immaturity on my part, I request you edit your post to read "Vic's defense", rather than "Vic's D." I had my Butthead laugh going on each time I read it.

I'm buying as well. Not only is Yogi a SR now, but our backcourt is bigger, deeper, more athletic, and shoots the 3 ball as well or better collectively. Both teams possessed a good big man but Thomas Bryant has more of a fire in his belly, which both I put Zeller as = to Bryant.... Passing ability (=) Offensive polish around the rim (+ Zeller) Running the floor (=) Defending the rim (+ Bryant) Defending the perimeter (+Zeller) Pick and Roll (+ Bryant) *Slight edge to Bryant due to the fact that Zeller refused to shoot from the perimeter and constantly telegraphed drives to the basket that ended in him shooting from his hip and getting blocked. Bryant will shoot and hit 3's. Outward Energy (++ Bryant) This was where Zeller fell far short. Often needed to demand the ball and hold his teammates responsible. Tucked his tail in situations where we needed our best player to lead vocally and emotionally. Before someone's feels get damaged: I'm not saying that he never had moments where he didnt respond. I'm saying there were plenty of moments where we needed to see fire out of him and we didn't. Impact Winning (=) Both came in and took the previous years roster and made it exponentially better. Both guys are tremendous guys/players and we are privileged that they decided to play their ball in Bloom.

Will do. I'll share pics and all.

I highly recommend San Fran. Always wanted to go to Hong Kong. I've heard it called "New York on steroids without all of the anxiety and anger." Sounds like a blast. Best skyline in the world IMO.

Most of my travels are business related. I've seen a lot of the states but never been outside of the country. I recently engaged in talks with a company that is headquartered in Lima Peru and has another large facility in Santiago Chile. I am in the process of scheduling that trip. I cant wait. I'm a big seafood guy and I've heard Lima Peru rivals no one in that regard.

IU vs Maryland Game Thread
HoosierTrav replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I flew through a MASSIVE TX thunderstorm on my first ever flight. It was like riding a roller coaster. Lights went out and the oxygen masks deployed and everything. Everyone was screaming and I had a huge bruise on my forearm where the lady next to me grabbed hold of my arm and squeezed as tight as she could. It was terrifying! The flight attendant ended up in the same hotel bar as I did that night and told me that was the worst turbulence she'd ever experienced. I have nerves of steel when flying now. I'm the dude who, when the person next to me is freaking out about turbulence, I put my book down, stare at them for a few seconds, then tell them "You have no idea what turbulence is!" and get back to calmly reading my book...... Have a fun flight Boob!! Oh and GO HOOSIERS! -
You're right. We were never invited to the Champions Classic but was invited to the CBS Sports Classic (UCLA, O$U, UK, UNC) and turned it down, opening the door for Ohio State.
-
True. We were never invited into the Legends Classic (MSU, KU, UK, Duke). We were invited to the Champions Classic (Louisville, UCLA, UK, Ohio State) and turned it down bc of a conflict with the Crossroads, or not wanting to do both so close to one another.

(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
HoosierTrav replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
He'll be at a major prep school in a year or two. It's early but he looks the part of a top ten player in his class. He is super skilled and seems more athletic that his brother. -
I agree but I place little of the burden on Yogi's shoulders. He's been playing at an elite level since he came in. Gotta have the coaching and support of teammates to win. Not one player wins on their own.
-
No player, is consistently clutch. Jordan and Lebron statistically... thats about it. I think you are only focusing on the missed shots. Alos, you cant only consider shots alone. How about; the 3 to send IU into overtime against Butler (Frosh year) altering Morgans final putback attempt to win the B1G (Frosh year) The 2 shots he hit against Wisconsin to take the lead and seal the deal (soph year) The 2 3's at the end of regulation to get us into overtime against Georgetown (junior year) Keeping us in the game late against Wichita. (Junior) I KNOW I'm missing some more examples of his clutch gene. It's sad but Yogi Ferrell is in the AJ Guyton category. Far better than his own fans gave him credit for.

Wooden Award-Yogi Ferrell Finalist
HoosierTrav replied to Striper's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree. I'm biased but I think Yogi and Kris Dunn are the top PG's in the nation but Yogi wont get that recognition unless the team succeeds. Fair enough. Side Note: Kyle Wiltjer will win this award IMO -
There's a reason Duke Blue Planet hired him. I wasn't always impressed with the verbiage but it always seemed to be a hit with recruits and the visual effects were second to none.
