(2020) SF Jordan Geronimo to Maryland
IUc2016 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Love this pickup. I feel like he may be the next out of state Hoosier that fans come to love for his enthusiasm and energy. Rabjohns quoted him in an article, "you should see me right now. I am just in my back yard jumping around, I am excited to be a Hoosier." Feel like once he puts on weight he can be a small ball stretch 4 that this team is missing. Really hyped about the way this class is turning out -
Did someone compare Peyton Manning’s colts offense to last years IU’s offense? [emoji52] Also, you all realize this was Mikes first start? In his second drive he did something Ramsey has never done and physically cannot do. Throw the ball 45-50 yards in the air on a line. This offense has a much much higher ceiling than any of the past 3-4 teams. Let’s give it a chance Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Look I am not saying IU was great today or anything, but did anybody watch other big ten games? Nebraska struggled at home against south Alabama. 35-21 Purdue lost at Nevada. 34-21 Minnesota barely beat FCS South Dakota State at home. 28-21. Iowa is only up 24-14 in the fourth as I type this against another MAC school, Miami (oh). No IU wasn’t great. But they were were far from terrible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Well considering they extended him after last season it is yet to be seen if they have “gotten their money’s worth” He has coached one game under this new contract.....and he lost [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

IU football is expected to stink. None of our fans have expectations of winning 10 games, the division, and going to a New Years bowl. Plus we didn’t pay our coach $40 mil after going 13-13 his first two seasons. We can relish in this Purdue flop regardless of what happens to IU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

yeah i don't think that is what he is saying. But whatever. More like he believes Allen will win this year and he will be forced to give him an extension. It is okay to have faith in the guy you hired and publicly back him. I know that doesn't fit your narrative though so disregard it.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
IUc2016 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm not saying Justin won't start. I am saying Justin isn't a wing and won't start as one. I actually think he does start at the 4 as he did last year. -
I have never been so excited for an IU football season. I keep telling myself that is very very unwise because my heart won't be able to endure the inevitable. But hey, this program has to have some success sometime right? .....right? Seriously though, looking forward to Saturday and hope the Hoosiers can get an easy W like last year.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

I guess I just don’t see how Justin Smith starts on the wing. Especially if TJD and Brunk are starting in the front court. That’s 3 players on the court who have no ability to handle the ball or shoot outside of 10 feet. Obviously Smith can improve his shot, but I just don’t see him improving his handle enough to be a consistent player out on the wing. He is a a front court player and I do not see that changing. I have too many memories of him passing up an open shot on the wing only to barrel into the defense for a charge. But, hope he really surprises me and you guys are correct. Now how he, TJD, Brunk, DeRon, and race split minutes between the two front court positions is interesting to me. Race is the only one I see as having the opportunity to be a stretch forward. Big Ten Schedule with dates. https://twitter.com/IndianaOnBTN/status/1164931560904302595?s=20

I just think this is the best team Holtmann has had to date at OSU and he has proven he can get it done. He won't have to rely on any of the talented freshman to take on heavy minutes and produce right away because of the talent and experience he has coming back. I will be surprised if they stay healthy and don't compete for a top three spot. But that is why they play the games. So like you said, we will see.

https://www.insidethehall.com/2019/08/14/big-ten-power-rankings-offseason-edition-v-2/ I don't have much argument with this list. After looking it over, there is so much uncertainty with each team that it is difficult to project the league as a whole other than Michigan State and probably Ohio State. Maryland is talented, but then again Mark Turgeon is the coach. After that there are a bunch of teams with potential but a lot of unproven pieces. It will be an interesting big ten season for sure, I just hope IU outplays their projections/expectations for once. IU is 8th on this list btw.

Yeah I don't think Leal and Galloway are diamonds in the rough. As Stuhoo said, look at their offer list. Very prominent programs are after these kids. I feel pretty good that Leal, Galloway, and Cross are big ten contributors and am not worried about them. I only worry that there doesn't seem to be a great chance we will land a point guard in this class and that would be two classes in a row without a point guard. I know Lander is 2021, but that is nowhere near a certainty. Still in a wait and see with Archie, love his organization overall and what he is trying to do. Just have to see on the court success or none of this matters.

Yeah but they usually only give waivers for a 6th year when it is due to injuries. Not typically the case when a player merely transfers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I could be wrong, probably am. But don’t you only get 5 years to play 4? Absent a waiver from the NCAA to get a 6th. For uthoff he sat out first year at UW. Then sat out a second year at IOWA. That only leaves 3 years left to play. If he played a 4th year at IOWA it would have been 6 years to play 4. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Yes. I am so glad this is catching on. The bill of rights is not a bad thing, people, including the media, just have misrepresented it on numerous occasions and haven’t actually read it. Regardless of your feelings with the administration, the bill of rights does not hinder Archie. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
nobody has said that they do have anything to do with Archie. Nobody. His argument was that it was okay to have those types of players on the bench because the end of the bench does not matter. Plus it helps bring in Oladipo and Aunonoby, somehow. My opinion is that the end of the bench does matter.

I haven't seen anyone blame Crean for the losing streak this year. Most people in this thread have been critical of Archie. Some saying it is still a wait and see process while others being less optimistic. Each view is fine considering what happened this year. But the whole argument that it is okay to bring in guys like Priller, April, and Bawa among others is a stretch in my opinion. Especially since bringing in those guys has absolutely nothing to do with bringing in Oladipo and Aunonoby as those two were actually recruited by other high majors. You have to have players on your bench who have a chance to develop later on. A lot of the players Crean brought in had no shot to develop so they transferred. Thats not good for a program. Just look at the players on the end of Purdue's bench last year, Aaron Wheeler and Sasha Stefanovic. They sat out last year and developed and now are providing quality minutes to a team in the elite 8. To say the end of the bench does not matter is incorrect in my opinion.
