Hate the boilers as much as any IU fan but one can easily argue that Rondale Moore is a top 10 player in the country. He would start anywhere. He will be a first round pick if he stays healthy Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

No you won’t. Taking anything away from what the coaches say at hysteria is foolish. They say the same stuff no matter the team Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Surface level comparisons are easy, which is what you are describing. They usually come from an attempt to make a set of facts fit your arguments rather than the other way around. Which is lazy and ignorant . Someone who has taken the time to dig deeper and sort through the facts can usually tear those types of arguments apart. At least in my world.

You are impossible. you act like TTU did something that IU has had the chance to do and didn't. Let me know when IU football has the chance to steal their equivalent of a Chris Beard (meaning a coach with STRONG connections to the program) and does not. Until then, this doesn't make any sense.
-
There has to be a reason they were ABLE to "steal" him from UNLV. If he had not went to school in Texas, been a head coach in the Texas area, AND been the top assistant at TTU for 10 seasons you think Texas Tech of all places could just go "steal" him from UNLV?
-
Joe, you do realize Chris Beard was the top assistant at Texas Tech for 10 seasons (2001-2011)? it is not like he had no connections to TTU. A lot easier for TTU to bring him back than just to go out and throw money at him.

Fire or ‘Way to Go!’ Tom Allen?
IUc2016 replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Agreed. Anything less than 2-3 wins and there will be some valid concerns. Until then, this team is exactly where we thought it would be at this point in the season, 3-2. -

You won’t get that agreement. They will somehow dodge the argument and come up with another excuse Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Fire or ‘Way to Go!’ Tom Allen?

Look Tom Allen may not be the coach for IU, but this is insane. He has had back to back the best recruiting classes at Indiana. There are so many freshman and sophomores on the field. He recruited what looks to be the best quarterback IU has had since ARE. And has done more than most IU coaches in their first two year in winning 5 games. This is Indiana football... what more are you expecting from a program that hasn’t won a bowl game since the early 90s and has only had one winning season since? He has the program headed in the right direction with that talent he is bringing in. But yes let’s just fire him. Give me a break Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
We won’t be able to move the ball very efficiently this game, MSU defense is too good. Gonna remind me a bit of the 2017 game up in east Lansing that was a slugfest. We will have to connect on a few big plays if we want to pull this out. Sorry Brass, I know you disagree with big plays. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

yeah i will be very surprised if IU makes it out of non-conference with only 1 loss. A 2 loss non-conference schedule is a buy everyday of the week. You can still lose 9-10 in conference and feel really great about your tourney chances

Ramsey is a great backup because you know what you are getting out of him. Experience, solid play, and a team guy. I will always root for Ramsey and hope he gets another moment to show why he is so valuable to this team. With that said, Peyton Ramsey does not have the big play ability to take IU to the next level. He just doesn't. His throws take way too long to get to receivers down the field and even on quick hitters to the sideline. It gives the defense way too much time to react to the ball in the air and it does not give guys like Whop a chance to make the man miss on screen passes and bubble routes. In terms of this argument of penix vs. Ramsey, I think you have to look no further than what Tom Allen said when he announced Penix as the starter. He said it is not anything Peyton has or hasn't done, it is just what I believe Mike CAN be. Mike is a red-shirt freshman who has played a total of 1 full-game from start to finish. In that game he made plays Ramsey has never made and cannot make with both his arm and his feet. Did he make mistakes? of freaking course he did. Some mistakes that maybe Ramsey as a fourth year player wouldn't make. BUt the upside is too much to ignore. That bomb to westbrook on the second drive of the game is proof of that. The absolute laser he threw to Whop last week down the field is also proof. Peyton just cannot make those plays, and you have to have them against the big ten east. You just do.

There is one McDonald’s all American in 2019 who will play for a big ten team. And He was left off their all newcomer team. Okay then Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue
IUc2016 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Still can’t believe he dropped to #90 in the rivals ranking. Not sure what that was all about But hey, if it keeps this recruitment a regional battle that will only bode well for IU. I am fine with him being unranked if I am being honest Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
