  1. I think that this thread is well worth the time to read: St Mary's has a nice, substantive message board with a 31 post thread about Evan Fitzner and his potential transfer. Good insight as to his talents and weaknesses. As a bonus, barely-remembered Hoosier-to St. Mary's player Ben Allen gets name-checked! https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/godisagael/fitzner-t8395.html?sid=9b2e5766900ba750299f0687fb0e533b
  2. You guys are still sleeping on Al Durham. Maybe not as a starter, but as a twenty minute a game guy? Likely.
  3. Another way of saying that: the coaching staff made it clear to Fitz that they expect Juwan Morgan to be on the floor.
  4. As long as we agree that Race Thompson is ninth most likely to start, I got no problem wit youse.
  5. For me? In order, from most to least likely to start: Morgan Langford Smith Green McRoberts Hunter Phinissee Durham Thompson Davis Fitzner Moore Anderson Forrester
  6. There is not necessarily a "hold up." Romeo committed to IU three days ago; I would expect that any other big-time recruit would want a little time in the sun when they committed, and that would be after the Romeo headlines subsided a bit.
  7. Roar? That's so 'earlier this week.' Lame.
  8. IF TREESH IS IN I'M IN: WHO'S WITH US?!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRGGGHHHHHWAHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  9. Very, very, VERYVERYVERY nice.
  10. That's a list of 70 invitees with six confirmed as NOT participating. 60 get to participate when the day is done.
  11. Well sure; his percentage is likely to be better. And I have a reasonable belief that he can and will be a better all around player than Young. But Young was on a mediocre team with little size, an awful defensive scheme, and no other player anywhere near as good as Juwan Morgan. For the amount of scoring load that was put on Young, 36% from three is really good. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. Romeo Langford is nowhere near as good a shooter as Trae Young. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. Not at last check.
  14. "But at last check..." Hahahaha; under that standard, this is also true: "LeBron James has not yet been approved to play for the Indiana Hoosiers next season. But at last check, there has been no rejection of an application for his addition to the team."
  15. Nope! The common themes are many and scattered, such as: Archie can't coach Sean Miller is dirty Tim Langford decided for Romeo The B1G stinks IU is a has-been, and therefore never will be again and so many others it's just plain ol silly.
  16. I'm starting to notice that the number of IU-centric threads, and the IU hatred, irrational nonsense, and rationalization are really starting to ramp up on other boards. Gotta think that's a very, very good sign.
  17. Wanna learn about Trendon Watford, Earnest Watford, some good people, and some difficult, complex situations that are products of a history of distrust? Read this: https://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2018/05/the_ultimate_crossover_mountai.html
  18. Trendon Watford coming to IU would feel like family coming home to the program. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  19. This article is from the NBA Players' Tribune. It is a truly compelling read. God bless Keyon Dooling, and the good people that looked out for him. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/keyon-dooling-the-ghost?utm_source=social&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=mh0518&utm_term=keyon dooling&utm_content=the ghost
  20. When Archie flies a 6'10" grad transfer across the country for an official and dines with him at Janko's the night Romeo commits, I'm guessing we're all in. When Evan Fitzner sees our facilities, meets the coaching staff and players, visits his academic interests (his dad was a Stanford guy) and sees the potential of this team, I'm guessing he'll be all in too.
  21. Yes! wait...I already said no; just seeing the potential that he could be a success.
  22. Max Bielfeldt was universally acclaimed as a huge success in an Indiana uniform, after he blew past his prior career achievements to average 8.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Evan Fitzner, as a freshman, averaged 8.7 ppg and 4.4 rpg for a 26-5 St. Mary's team. Not that he'd be as valuable at IU as Max, but the potential is there.
  23. I'm in the camp that this young man should have his own thread; I kinda expect him to commit to play for Indiana! http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3146558/evan-fitzner
  24. That's a pretty optimistic view of Davis's ability to come back with the athleticism necessary to defend in Archie's system. Hope you're right, but I'm definitely in the "glass half empty" crowd on this one.
  25. Davis is coming off of a major, debilitating injury that will only exacerbate his biggest weakness as a player. Evan Fitzner has a much better chance to start, and he hasn't committed to IU yet.
