That he might commit to IU this summer? Wait, was your question rhetorical? -

AND...a new thread on the Purdue board with Tamala Reed, Nojel Eastern's mom, going into full middle school insult mode with a bunch of Purdue fans. If ever there was a primer on why Troy's mom was pulled from the board, this is it! Read on - Eastern's mom's handle is "TReed1967" https://purdue.forums.rivals.com/threads/ignorant-nba-evaluation-questions.145334/ -
2019 General Recruiting Thread
Stuhoo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think that the point about filling multiple 2019 scholarship spots by the end of the summer is spot on and should be expected. Here's why: Archie and staff know what the heck they are doing! We want to maybe reserve one spot for an unexpected transfer fill or for an (ahem...Romeo, Hurt) exceptional player who is worth the wait. We want to have high end recruits feel like if they don't commit, someone else will take their spot (ahem ... "Hurry up Damezi; Aaron Henry is about to pop"). We don't want to be recruiting for 2019 during the 2018/2019 season. Here's the clincher: PRECEDENCE! Last July we filled almost the entire 2018 class in seven weeks of summer with Damezi, Race, Rob, Jake, and Jerome. We held one back for a special recruit, and CuJo leaving opened one more up unexpectedly. Starting to see that our staff has a well-structured plan for this stuff? Yup. Based on this precedence I could see us taking three over the summer and holding one spot back for Hurt. -
To me? Having Porter at the 5 would indicate that DeRon may need a redshirt year. It could also give us a starting five of: Green Romeo Justin Juwan Porter McBob, Hunter, Phinisee, Al D, Race ... A lot of depth. A lot of size. A lot of athleticism. A little short on outside shooting. That roster could absolutely contend with a serious March run. But, I am merely Tuesday-daydreaming with this scenario.

Yes. If Romeo comes and is a one and done that would still leave three '19 schollies open. If we have a transfer to go with that situation we would have four. -

We are the only school on his potential final list that would allow for his family to see him play regularly. -

Al can be a pretty perfect first guard in at either position because he defends and limits turnovers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Albeit he left at the end of the season but he did leave none the less. I’m here to tell you that Langford is indeed going to Indiana. It’s not me being negative, it’s not me being an Indiana fan, it’s common sense. Originally he had planned to announce at the Mcds game. He moved it later to his home town. Folks let’s be smart here, if he was coming to Us why would he move this date and place of announcement. Spin it how you want, he’s going to Indiana. That being said , we have the right coach and will be back in the tourney this year. His father was the main reason behind the change. My source tells me his dad was “very influential” in his decision. Vanderbilt was the leader until shortly before the McDonald’s game. The coaching staff was also told of his decision recently. Notice the increase in transfer guards we showed interest in? -
Wrong! Doing those cases NEVER gets old.
