Not true-in my opinion nothing has changed: those two guys were always very likely to have been gone from KU at the end of the season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

THE VISIT Archie: "Thanks for lemonade Mrs. Jackson. That's a lovely pantsuit you're wearing!" Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Jackson: "(silence)" Archie: "You nice folks told me that if Romeo was coming to IU that would clinch the commitment for Trayce. Well then ... it's time for Trayce to commit!" Trayce: "Gosh mom and dad, can I?" Mr. Jackson (sternly): "Let's Facetime Romeo." (dialing) Romeo (Answers wearing an "It's Miller Time" t-shirt and drinking a strawberry milkshake): "Howdy sir. Howdy ma'am. Hey Trayce! HOWDY COACH!!" Archie: "Hello there young fella." Romeo: "Gosh Coach, I can't wait to play with Trayce and all!" Mr. Jackson (hangs up on Romeo): "Sissy, get your brother the family ink pen." Trayce: "GOSH!" ________________________________________________ Ahhhh....kids these days! -

Damn straight it's a good sign. For me? It's a good sign on the larger level of TJD's potential belief in the rise of the program. -
Not Vandy. Still "Cloudy" on IU versus Kansas.

Loss of big man Trey Porter leaves ODU basketball in a tough spot Mar 28, 2018 Updated Mar 29, 2018 This time of year, there are winners and losers virtually every day in college basketball’s volatile transfer market. Old Dominion took one in the loss column late Tuesday night, when forward Trey Porter, the Monarchs’ top inside player this past season, announced plans to transfer. The loss of the 6-foot-10, 230-pound Porter, who averaged 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, dims the 2018-19 outlook for a team that went 25-7 this year and was slated to return a core of three seniors: point guard Ahmad Caver, guard/forward B.J. Stith and Porter. Porter made huge strides in 2017-18 and was expected to be the hub of the offense inside as well as a formidable defensive presence. His loss, coupled with the graduation of forward Brandan Stith, leaves the Monarchs alarmingly thin in the frontcourt. “We appreciate Trey’s contributions to ODU men’s basketball and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” ODU head coach Jeff Jones said in a statement Wednesday afternoon. Porter received his release Tuesday and emailed the website verbalcommits.com, which first reported his intentions to transfer. He confirmed his plans to The Virginian-Pilot. A redshirt junior from Woodbridge, Porter graduated in December and would be eligible immediately. Porter did not immediately respond to an email Wednesday afternoon, but it’s expected that he’s looking to play in a major conference. “Trey’s a bright kid. I’m sure he’ll make a wise choice,” Keith Honore, Porter’s coach at Potomac High, said in a text message. Porter added weight and strength this past year and was dominant at times in the low post. He was voted Conference USA Player of the Week at the end of the season after averaging 23.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in wins over Florida Atlantic and Florida International. Porter will be attending his third school. He transferred to ODU from George Mason after his freshman season. He sat out the 2015-16 season and averaged 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2016-17.

Just sayin': every addition to this thread is one more player who could potentially make Juwan Morgan eliminate any thoughts of leaving early. And that's what I care about most. -

Hey...ya never know who might have insight and I'm all for optimistic speculation, but to give it any special credibility or attach any significance to it is unwarranted. I am sure that a good part of those with optimism is from people who have spoken with New Albany residents, and maybe even those associated with the New Albany program, but that doesn't mean that they actually know anything. Just like the pro-KU or Vandy "insider" posts are from people who don't actually know anything. I prefer to look at what has been said and done by the Langfords, what the Langfords have stressed are their deciding factors, and which school best aligns with those criteria. That's why I think that IU and Kansas are the two most likely destinations, but that Vandy is also a possibility. The Langford-established criteria that bode well for IU which immediately come to mind? Personalities of recruits + Smith fit well with Romeo No-nonsense coach Distance for family to attend home and road games Home town pull Ed Schilling as a guard development coach NA Coach Shannon (and apparently one of his assistants) as an Ed Schilling, Archie Miller, and IU supporter Clif Marshall Juwan Morgan The Northwestern-sitting behind the IU bench experience The Hoosier Hysteria experience The predictions of Grimes, Dotson, and especially Louis King
