  1. Freddie is starting to defend quite well, and can do so at multiple positions. However, would only play him when both JBj and RoJo are also on the court, and as many have said, never at the same time as McRoberts.
  2. You're right; Brooks should be looking at his first suspension with additional similar conduct to bring substantially harsher suspensions, and Grayson Allen should be on his fourth successively harsher suspension. Agreed?
  3. I think Groce is not good at all, but Illinois has been much better lately.
  4. There are very, very few people that follow Illinois basketball that would agree that Groce is a better tactician and bench coach than the fry cook at your local McDonalds.
  5. Did he get his degree? If so, there is no reason for him to stay. If not, he should have stayed until he did.
  6. Seems spot on to me.
  7. Nips is all aboard back on the Tommy Crean Train!!! (okay, he's not. But hey heeeeeyyyyy, thinkin' we can get it done against the stinkin' Illini!)
  8. Time to show her who's boss. (Hint: she is.)
  9. It's a message board; I'm not questioning your right to say what you want, but I also feel free to call it the way I see it. So, I don't think it's funny; I think it's low class. I also think that Tom Crean is a good man with integrity, but that he is not the right coach for IU.
  10. Don't matter if it actually happened, he's on a random "I hate Tom Crean" roll. lol
  11. Jeez...if you guys are gonna resort to name calling and personal insults of IU's basketball coach, take it to Rupp's Rafters. What's next after "Clappy", references to him kissing his son on the cheek? Not okay, even in the Fire Tom Crean thread.
  12. Save those tickets for IU fans!
  13. Given that we all pretty much agree that currently the CTC era is NOT going well;
  14. Because when you are a football school, it is never too soon to start the drumbeat of victory.
  15. Toughness is not our problem this year, in my opinion. Heck, we're out-rebounding everyone! A lot of the same guys who seemed tough last year are playing lost at times. Our problem this year is that our guys are "playing unprepared." That having been said, this year's team STILL has a better chance of winning a national championship than last year's team.
  16. I thought that last year's team, with Zeis, Yogi, Max, OG, Juwan, Niego, Collin, TB, Troy, Burton, and Rojo was also a complete joy to watch once they hit their stride.
  17. Grizzlies recall Troy Williams from Iowa Energy Posted: Jan 04, 2017 FACEBOOK GOOGLE PLUS TWITTER Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team has recalled forward Troy Williams from its NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy. Williams (6-7, 218) appeared in three games (one start) for the Energy after being assigned on Dec. 26 and averaged 24.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.67 steals in 27.8 minutes. He scored in double figures in all three contests, including 32 points (12-17 FG, 3-8 3P, 5-8 FT) in 28 minutes in his D-League debut on Dec. 27 vs. Rio Grande Valley. The 22-year-old has appeared in 24 games (13 starts) for the Grizzlies during his rookie season and has averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.00 steals in 17.4 minutes. The Hampton, Va. native went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft after his junior season at Indiana University and signed with Memphis as a free agent on Aug. 8, 2016. He currently leads all undrafted NBA rookies in steals per game.
  18. Well then...should I watch the next three games?!?
  19. None of those counterpoints address the overriding extraordinary situation first raised; that being how hard it is to "beat cheese" in the paint, 'specially when it's Asiago.
  20. Disagree. That was then, and even then there was talk. The circumstances are very different now. Not in every way, but in some very important ways.
  21. ^^THIS!!!!!^^ If things don't progress, say a 17 - 20 win season and an early exit or no NCAAs, the higher powers will be completely engaged.
  22. Without a doubt they do, and if they don't other schools that are recruiting against IU will remind them that the IU coach who they are thinking of playing for may not be there soon.
  23. ANNNNDDD.... Chilly Willy has spoken!
  24. Indiana Basketball is so tremendously popular that attendance and fan support will always, always be there. Always. There is no need to boycott games or boo (though that is certainly anyone's prerogative). The very high end boosters are sitting court-side and taking in the in-game experience just like we all are. They have become high-end boosters overwhelmingly while being very successful in life, and doing what needs to be done. They can gauge the success, the organization, and the potential of the team as well or better than we all can. If the Tom Crean era is trending down, they will act accordingly. Remember, and I believe this is very important: Tom Crean has three years left on his contract after this year, and if necessary there are many boosters who will easily cover the buyout. At the 'three years left' mark, it is time to either extend or move on. If we don't, 2018 recruits will have no expectation that the coach they are signing with will be there for their junior year. That's huge.
