  1. The defense wasn't notably great, but at least it wasn't "IU bad".
  2.     "And furthermore, Brass Cannon, youse are a fat pig idiot with a bad face and low energy blood spurting from your nether-regions."
  3. Kids generally want to take official visits and I can't blame them:   Imagine being a high school senior with the chance to visit multiple fantastic college campuses for free, replete with girls, girls, girls, and topped off by front row tickets to a big time college hoops game.   I'd take all five visits, and if I only had four teams I really liked, I'd fake interest in the University of Hawaii to get there for a lovely trip!   Moral of the story? Grant Gelon did not need an official visit to have a free weekend in Muncie or Terre Haute, where his other options lay. DeRon and his family will want to see some excellent places.
  4.   Geez; you look incredibly athletic in your avatar.

  6.   Nelly Cummings!   '17 PG out of the Pittsburgh, PA area: Nelly Cummings PITTSBURGH, PA - 2017   SchoolLincoln ParkPositionPoint GuardHeight6’0”Weight120 lbs.AAU TeamAll-OhioHometownPittsburgh, PAClass2017 PLAYER PROFILE REPORT FutureView™ Related News SCOUTING REPORT STRENGTHS 3pt Shooting Agility Athleticism Speed Feel For The Game NEEDS TO IMPROVE On-Ball Defense Size For Position Scout’s Notes: Battle of the Cities (October 20-21, 2014): Arguably the best scorer in the 2017 class this weekend was the Pittsburgh-native Cummings, knocking down shots from all around the court. In his first game on Saturday against the Dayton squad, Cummings knocked down three triples in the first half, including the buzzer-beater to end the frame, giving his team a commanding 53-39 lead. He would finish with 31 points and seven rebounds as his Columbus team cruised to a 110-81 victory. 7. Miles Bridges @MilesBridges01 Indiana tomorrow with my bro @ctj_curt what's good #IUBB? 4:26 PM - 27 Aug 2015 from Rome, OH
  8.   That, and Natty also reportedly has excellent dental hygiene.   Impressive.
  9. Why not middle schoolers? (Full disclosure: I have two kids in middle school) (More disclosure: neither is named "Bob")
  10.   Only if you crystal ball gaze and assume the worst.  My (I think) realistic expectations for the '16/'17 rotation?   Center: Bryant, backed up by DeRon Davis and Emmitt Holt, Maker as a pipe dream. PF:  Holt, DeRon Davis, Juwan Morgan, Leaf/Bridges as a pipe dream. SF: Hartman, OG, freshman 4 star (Jenkins, Stevens, Leaf/Bridges as a pipe dream) Guards: Rojo, JBJ, Newkirk, one more four star-ish addition.   Assuming normal player development, that seems like an excellent talent/experience level mix. Certainly as good as our B1G competition's talent level and experience. Absolutely a top 25 roster at a minimum!   If the coaching is good enough, we are fine and then some. If the coaching is good enough.
  11.   If we sign three more for '16, we would have at least two open spots for '17 (Colinn and JBJ). If Thomas Bryant is a two and done, that's three open. Add one more transfer under the "somebody's not getting enough playing time" theory, and we'd have four open.   Moral of the story?   If Scruggs, Wilkes, Michael Porter and Malik all want to come to IU, there will be PLENTY of room.
  12. 2016 (Iowa Western CC) JUCO WR @Tahzh_ Taj Williams on his visit at Indiana
  13.     I'm surprised that rebel is the only one that hit the nail on the head with a major component of this recruitment.   There is a common theme that has held since Stan, "The Movement", etc.  CTC is trying really, really hard to only recruit high character kids. OG and Juwan are through the roof academically, and T Bryant was held as a civic treasure in WV. Zeisloft, Rojo, JBJ, Beilfeldt? Same dynamic.   That doesn't keep us from going after four and five star players, but they all seem to be very squared away kids or we don't even try to get into the mix.   Newkirk seems to have a Ronnie Johnson skill set and a Robert Johnson mindset.   And that's O.K.
  14. I suppose it is possible that with the Jones visit coming in a week Gordon realized it was time to make a decision if he wanted a shot at IU. It would be interesting to see the reaction if Gordon committed and Curtis cancelled his visit.
  15. June 18th article in the Indianapolis Star in which he said that Butler was one of his top three but that was changing. He then named the list of five schools where he wanted to take an official visit. Indiana was one of them, Butler was not. I think that Butler is a real possibility, and that Arizona State and LSU have a chance, but that Indiana is as likely a destination as any.
  16.   Weekly, not daily.
  17.   Bingo.   Antoine Walker, anyone?
  18. Hey, if Jamal doesn't know what his major is, how are we supposed to?
  19.   Dedicated new UK student Jamal Murray is now trying to get a waiver from the NCAA so that he can play with the Canadian FIBA team. Young Mr. Murray has still not set foot on the UK campus other than for his official recrutiing visit. This waiver would allow him to miss at least the first few weeks of classes during his one and only year at UK.   "The FIBA American Championships are coming up at the end of the month. As much as Murray would love to play, classes start on the 24th and Murray can not be in two places at once. Canadian officials have spoke with John Calipari and the NCAA trying to keep his services a little longer."   Hey Jamal...what's your major gonna be?
  20.   I get a sense that DeRiante Jenkins is a real possibility too.
  21.   Cal and UK have literally almost zero players who have any interest in a college degree.   I don't want to get that done.
  22.   All it'll take is adding Bruce Brown and Deron Davis to GG, and you'll be fine!
  23.   Not as our sixth man (his defense wasn't good enough) but as part of a six man class.   I like having someone in the 7th-9th man role that can really stretch the defense, ala Roth, Zeisloft, Kyle Hornsby.
  24.     If Matt Roth was cloned and available for a six man IU class, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I hope that GG is a Matt Roth clone.
  25. Nigel Hayes #1?   Sounds entirely possible to me.
