  1. I'm pretty sure that the shade of Hartman's skin will not be relevant toward his role on the team. In other words, I am NOT a fan of ^^that^^ post.
  2. Which sad, decrepit team might be picked for 14th? :)
  3. Well heck...the fact that he re-tweeted it gives it some modicum of credibility in my book. Hard to figure out 16 year olds, but apparently is a reasonable clue as to which programs he's leaning toward. Can't see NC State, Vandy, or Purdddooo. That gives a set of seven most likely contenders. If UL and UNC get nuked by the NCAA... if UCLA and Kansas are too far from home... That leaves us, UK, and Dukey!
  4. Zach Osterman re-tweeted this top ten list from a guy named Julius Kim from "phenomhoopsreport". An hour or two later, Kim had a follow up tweet where he basically admitted he didn't know what the hell he was talking about: Julius Kim ‏@JKim97 1h1 hour ago That Romeo Langford edit is NOT his final list.
  5. Kind of an early top ten for a top five player, eh? Also notable that we're the only B1G school in the mix (unless you count Purdoo). Edit: I'm not seeing where he's listed his top ten. Source?
  6. 'That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet' as Romeo committing to IUBB. 'Parting from the State of Indiana would be such sweet sorrow' (Juliet, Act 2 Scene 1) 'For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households' rancour to true love' of in-state five stars. (Friar Lawrence, Act 2 Scene 2) 'These violent delights have violent ends' when you stiff a Louisville bball hooker (Friar Lawrence, Act 2 Scene 5) 'A plague o' both your houses', thy houses of Cameron and Rupp. (Mercutio, Act 3 Scene 1) 'Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill' college basketball such as PayethPal Cal.(Prince, Act 3 Scene 1) 'Get these to Church o' Thursday, for afteralleth, CTC is a pretty religious dude, or never after look me in the face' and thy Lady Martha shall never mopeth thy floor (Lord Capulet, Act 3 Scene 5) 'Romeo, Romeo, Romeo! Here's drink: I drink to thee' with Hanner and Stan. (Juliet, Act 4 Scene 3) 'O true apothecary. Thy drugs are quick. As quick as Troy's mama instagram temper. Thus with a kiss I die' like a Purdue coed's chances early in a party. (Romeo, Act 5 Scene 3) 'O happy dagger. This is thy sheath: there rust and let me die', like a flopping Duke defender.(Juliet, Act 5 Scene 3) 'For never was a story of more woe, Than this is Juliet and her Romeo' if thy Romeo doth not stay home.
  7. That's a more than fair take on it. I disagree only in that each five star is different, and Romeo Langford's recruitment, family situation, and geographics have a lot more in common with Cody's than with someone like Ben Simmons, Cliff Alexander, Anhony Davis, Skal LaBassierre, Nerlens Noel or Okafor. That doesn't mean we'll get him, just that we have a legit chance.
  8. Agreed, but given that he still hasn't shown up on campus, I expect there to be much gnashing of collective fanbase teeth when he is way behind the curve for his first few months. Especially compounded because he played against relatively inferior high school competition. I expect Juwan to guard smaller lineup bigs a lot early on. By February or so? Needs to be DeRon.
  9. The fact that we aren't pushing hard to primarily be a one-and-done program doesn't mean we don't have a chance for the right 5 star. That's also undeniable, and proven.
  10. ^^That implies that we're regularly battling for "top 3 players." ^^ With five star players? We've won a few (Zeller, Blackmon, Ferrell, Bryant), and lost at least a few (Lyles, Pinson, Harris, etc). Of course, UNC, Duke, UK, etc have also lost more than a few battles for five star players. And that's okay too. Moral of the story? Overgeneralizing on any particular player's interest in IUBB is not especially indicative of that player's intentions.
  11. Zander is a tough little sh!t. I'm hopeful they can get him over 165 pounds.
  12. Offenses are usually far behind defenses in the early camp stages. The scary part has been in past years when that hasn't been true for IUFB. There has been enough talent on the defense for awhile. Coach Allen is a big, big deal.
  13. Per PrepHoops...Good news for us re a very high character, very high upside wing!: Posted On: 08/7/16 9:04 PM After a dominant July for the Mac Irvin Fire the state’s top small forward Stevenson senior Justin Smith is ready to focus on recruiting. Last week he cut his list to his final seven in Indiana, Michigan, Xavier, Illinois, Stanford, Villanova, and Wisconsin. Smith informed PrepHoopsIllinois that he has lined up three official visits and two unofficial visits to this point. They are: August 14 – Michigan (Unofficial) September 3 – Xavier (Unofficial) September 10 – Indiana (Official) September 17 – Villanova (Official) September 30 – Stanford (Official) Stay locked on PrepHoopsIllinois for the latest on the state’s #3 2017 prospect.
  14. It will be quite a special opportunity for Bill Raftery to sing this players praises with his catchphrase "onions"!
  15. True. But is extremely, incredibly rare. As in "0- fer Calipari."
  16. I want him to be a lotto pick with a degree from IU. We have had two of those in the past five years. How many schools can say they produce lotto picks and those picks leave with a verifiable education?
  17. Two years + three summers at IU gets a player really close to a degree; that's one of the reasons I think he'll go. He doesn't need huge offensive numbers to be a first rounder.
  18. I need to have the last word in this thread, and I shall continue to reply until I have it! ;)
  19. He was called a "doody head."
  20. ^^This^^ It seems like every year we have a 'big opportunity game' where we can make a legit claim as a top 25 team if we win. Last year, it was Ohio State at home. It also seems as if during those games, we play well, and fade in the 4th quarter. This year, Michigan State at home will be that game.
