IU Hoosier41

Live by the Three, Die by the Three

Recommended Posts

This entire season has gone this direction.  It appears the same can be said for Wichita State.  Found this out this morning:

From ShockersNet Forums

I am actually a little worried about that.

On the year, IU takes 39.6% of their field goal attempts from 3.

On the year, WSU takes 35.3% of their field goal attempts from 3 and 19.3 attempts per game.

However, in our four losses here is the breakdown:

Utah: 30 attempts which accounted for 47.6% of our shots
GW: 27 attempts which accounted for 44.3% of our shots
UNI: 24 attempts which accounted for 50% of our shots
ISU: 18 attempts which accounted for 30% of our shots

So in 3 of the 4 games we have lost we have taken both more attempts than usual and a higher percentage of our attempts than usual.

It would appear Wichita State would tends to lose when they fall into a 3 point battle.  If Indiana starts connecting, WSU will start jacking 3's on the other end.   If we hit, I could see this game turning out similar to Maryland in Bloomington where Maryland tried to match IU's 3s.   Will be interesting to watch.

4 WSU losses w/ the majority of their shots coming from 3 =  Indiana victory?

Here's to WSU jacking up 40 threes this afternoon!
