UK Vs UCLA

As much as we'd (IU fans) would love this... AT THE MOMENT those schools really don't have much to gain from scheduling a series with us. They really don't have much to gain if they beat us, but a lot to lose if we upset them. It's the sad reality of our current position and reputation in the cbb world. It's going to require drastic improvements for our program stemming from Crean turning things around, a dynamite new coach, a new AD, or a miracle run in March for us to be relevant to earn a national TV game against the powerhouses atm. I think it goes without saying, this is just my honest opinion, and im not stating these thoughts as a fact, I very well could be overlooking some benefits for scheduling us...

TL;DR we are too weak on paper, teams have nothing to gain for scheduling us.

True that, however, one big thing to consider is that IU still can throw around its weight in eyes watching and potential money made if other blue bloods were to schedule a series with us.

We're pretty irrelevant in terms of our current basketball prowess, but Indiana basketball is a big name and even those who don't follow basketball closely know who the Hoosiers are. Getting people in the seats or tuning in is as important to athletic departments as having a competitive matchup IMO. These are multi million dollar businesses built around a hardwood court, and there's too much money potential to pass up sometimes.

Agree Scohutch---IU is far from irrelevant---IU fans are loyal and show up---both in the seats at the games and in watching television too. Other schools---sponsors----advertisers---and TV stations know this!  The posters who think the IU brand is washed up ---are fooling themselves----it's a little down right now but most schools would die to have our alumni and fanbase.  The IU brand is still strong.  Go Hoosiers!
