Top IU 3 Point Shooter this Year

OK Hoosier Nation---you have seen them and we are glad to have them. Who do you predict will be the top 3 point shooter for IU this year?

 

You can pick who you think will make the most 3 pointers---who will have the best percentage-- or both!

 

I predict Yogi takes both honors because of his experience!

Yogi and Blackmon shoot and HIT a lot is my prediction. 600+ team attempts

IDK really, we took 512 last year. I could see us taking 650 this year.

I think yogi, Blackmon, and Z are 36-40%. Rob, Troy around 33%. I think Max hits at 35% or higher but doesn't get as many attempts as he will be a defensive liability in BIG ten play.

JBJ is a strong pick too because his stroke is so pure---but Yogi just keeps getting better.  I appreciate the hard work he has put in while at IU as he continues to make himself a better player!

 Even though his sample size (number of shot attempts) will be smaller ---his percentage may be high.

I would expect both Yogi and James to be above the 36-40 range. Yogi hit 40% last year and a lot of attempts were forced at the end of the shot clock. With this years teams I don't think he have to do that nearly as often, plus he looks to have continued to improve upon his shooting ability. James is the top incoming shooter in the country. I could see both of them being around 44%

The consensus seems to be---we are going to have a kick-butt---3 point shooting---backcourt!

Good Question!  I see JBJ hitting the most 3's because I see him being the guy the team looks for the most setting up behind the arc, and I see Yogi taking less 3's this year because we have more weapons on the perimeter for him to set up.  As for a percentage shooter, I'll go with Nick Z, a la New School Kyle Hornsby.

 

Also, does TIm Priller seem like the kind of recruit Bo Ryan goes after?  A big white boy with Blonde Hair that shoots 3's, and won't get into the rotation til he's a Junior.....  To me he just seems like that kind of guy, because Wisconsin always seems to have their bigs shoot 3's.

Good point McClaine---I don't know may 6'9" kids who can shoot from 3 like him.  That weapon alone is something the staff can work with and use in situations while he continues to develop his overall game.

Priller should definitely get some burn for that shot especially early on. I'm just afraid he is a year away and the game may be a hair fast for him during the big ten slate
