Just throwing this out there because I do have some knowledge on racing. Anyways, revving the engine or speeding up would throw the back end to the left therefore trying I avoid the young man. It's the way the sprints take turns. Just to let you guys know

I'm not a racing aficionado but I've heard similar things, that you have to punch the throttle to steer those particular cars.

I don't know much about cars so pardon my ignorance as I've drove automatic cars my whole life; but couldn't the "rev" of the engine also have been a downshift into a lower gear in an effort to slow down resulting in higher revolutions per minute? Again, that could be ignorant.

 

 

I'm not saying that excuses him but the idea of him "punching it" versus downshifting seems to change the intent. If that is even still the debate? I haven't been following but that was my initial response to the video without hearing all the discussion.
