Illinois loses O-line coach

Recommended Posts

This could be big for us I think if we need more linemen that is!!! Which in our case I don't think we do but some more hogmolly's up front never hurt nobody.......

With that said ik we were in the running for a couple of their recruits at least I think I'm right....

Gabe Megginson

Adam Solomon

Then you have some other specialty positions which I feel won't be affected by this move.....

I'm ready for one or two big time commits to flop to us in the fall or surprise some people this summer before school starts!!! Would love to see this class get two top kids because obviously IU and mark hill know how to develop kids

A.J. Ricker is the coach who is leaving for his alma mater......Illinois is now looking for their fourth o-line coach in four years since Timmy boy has been at the helm......

A.J. Is taking over for Bruce walker who retired earlier this month.....

So I want Gabe....kids an ox.....adam will be good and he's already got size.....I just wanna see more from him I guess since I'm from the Indy area.

My pitch to recruits thinking about Illinois.... "Don't go there.....look at their o-line coach history they can't retain anyone and listen kid IU linemen win games for us and hey we have proof our weight program works (point to the Jason spriggs, Or jake reed a converted TE, Jacob Bailey, and Peyton Eckert)

That's just my opinion tho

LOL, When I first saw the thread title, my first reaction was, "Like I give a shiat"...

I think you're right. Given the proximity between Illinois and Indiana, and Indiana's recent ascension on

offense, it's entirely possible to nick a lineman or two from their previously committed, or yet to commit recruits.

I've got to believe Wilson is already on top of this. He strikes me as someone who doesn't miss too many opportunities.

Doesn't look like this has much impact on Megginson.

Gabriel J. Megginson‏@GabeMegginson72
This is what I have to say to everyone asking if coach ricker leaving effects my commitment. https://twitter.com/GabeMegginson72/status/486989248856203264/photo/1

From a coaching standpoint and considering the direction our respective programs are headed, it's his loss, not ours. Onward and upward.
