ESPN's Fab 50 Teams

Jeff Goodman of ESPN put together his rankings of the top 50 teams for next season.  It took quite a bit of scrolling, but I finally found the Hoosiers at #43.  Here are the Big Ten Teams in his standings.

43. Indiana

 

Teams on Schedule:

So Indiana is ahead of Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, & Northwestern....

 

 

My questions, do you honestly think Indiana will finish at #10 in the Big Ten?  This place will be UGLY if that is the case.  I'm WAY more optimistic about next season than 10th in the Big Ten...

8 teams that factor between 22 and 43rd...that's a pretty tight window much like last season...

gotta take care of home games and catch a few breaks on the road, and I can see us being in the top 6 or 7

I'd honestly rather miss the tournament and end up 6th in the Big Ten than make the tournament and end up 10th...  (I might be crazy after reading that sentence again... But I'll hit post regardless.)

I think the tournament is the biggest thing for me. That's the goal this year. I'd be okay with finishing 14th and making the tournament (basically impossible)

So you'd be okay going WINLESS in the Big Ten, but then win the Big Ten Tournament to get into the Dance?

 

(It's the farthest extreme I could come up with lol)

The NCAA has just announced that the B1G will receive 14 automatic bids.

No, I want the big to be the ultimate example of parity. We go undefeated in non-conference and then everyone in the B1G finished 9-9 and we just happen to lose every tiebreaker, finishing last.

Wow, that's shocking.

Think some of the decision of us being 10th in B10 is on account of all the transfers?  I wonder how much it's based solely on statistics. Being that our locker room might have much more positivism and win-lust than last year, now that the peeps who's hearts weren't in it are gone now and the new class seems to be seriously gung-ho and already meshing together (chemistry is super important!) (TW & SR going to derby fest, etc.)

I actually think Illinois is a sleeper for the top 2-3 spots in the conference. Lots of talent came in and has been there (on transfer). Still, I feel the trend towards guard play carrying teams has to favor us.
