They'd better go to class. They had a test in there today.

Way off topic, but this made me think of it. My favorite students are the ones who only show up for tests, I always found it funny

Yep. That's pretty much half of every class of mine. I love it. Because they always act like they have no idea what's going on either.

There is a guy in my music theory class that is that way. I actually asked my professor about it one day, her response was if he wants to pay and not show up that is his dumb decision to make

That's because the material is all online. I'll never understand profs who read off of Powerpoints and expect you to attend class.

ICORE I didn't miss a class. Took the 9:30-12 time, studied after class everyday from 12-1:30 and did nothing else all semester. It was my only 4.0 GPA semester lol. My final project plan was GENIUS.

My big thing is they aren't going to teach you much in class that you don't already have access to via book, internet. Course manual or provided PowerPoint slides.

I never understand why people take notes in class when the teacher posts the powerpoints online

Kids, there was no powerpoint or online or laptops or computers back in the good old days! You took notes or got them from someone else or you were screwed.

I know for me personally it helps to retain the information that way. I don't just copy down word for word what is on the teacher's notes. Instead putting it in your own words forces you to think about it one more time. At least that is how I have always conceptualized it

And when I get professors like that I try and see if I can switch to a different section. I can read out of a book, don't need my professor reading to me

I used to make a detailed outline for every chapter in a book. Put it all into my own words, that was the only way I could remember most of that boring crap.

That makes sense. I just have a hard time actually focusing on what they are saying because I'm too busy taking notes idk I'm just a different learner.

I feel pain when my teachers say when they had to write research papers all they had to use were books I can't even imagine man.

Oh yeah I don't think anyone learns exactly the same way. When I started out as an education major they drilled that into us. It is all really interesting stuff seeing how people make connections to information
