Indiana Pacers 2.0

Just checked out the box score. Turner had more than West, George, and Hibbert combined. There's your upside. See? Nothing to be negative about.

Kind of off topic, but not really. Just read on Bleacher Report that we are headed for another lockout in 2017. From what I gathered, it will be mostly because the NBA Players Union doesn't have an executive, and the owners destroyed the players when they did have one, so the owners will opt out of the CBA and try to get more money. Still a long ways off, but this would kill the NBA...again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Won't be surprised to see another expansion team by then too which will water down the league even more. Time to cut about 4 teams and stop letting the worst team in the league have best shot at the top draft pick so these asshole teams will stop tanking. Make the worst team have the last pick and that'll get teams to start playing.

Better yet, DO expand the D-League like Cuban says, let it get competitive for a while, then relegate teams like club soccer does. Lol that would throw a wrench in things.

I actually really like that idea. That's why I love European soccer you either make the cut or get out there is no tanking for draft picks.

I do too. If there was a way to do it, I'd love for all sports to have it, but with our draft system (that NO ONE else in the world uses) I think it would be tough.

The new idea for the Draft would help with tanking a lot. Essentially they want to make it that there is a random cycle in which teams get the #1 overall pick. By the end of 30 years all 30 teams would have had the #1 overall pick once. It is a goofy idea kind of, but in principle it makes sense. Every year every team has the same chance to be drafting high.

I kind of like the idea, kind of don't. I don't because a great college player like Jabari, Wiggins, etc. would have some form of control of who they go to. Say the Bobcats are in line to get the #1 this season, but the Heat get it next year. Wouldn't it be worth staying in college an extra year to go to a top 5 team as opposed to a perennial punching bag? I just don't like that college players could manipulate it.

I like the idea better than what we currently have in place. However there are obvious drawbacks to what they are proposing, such as what you are talking about. I personally think that the new system put in place is in itself more broken than what they are proposing.

Off topic, but I really like that Silver is proposing some new moves to try and help improve the league. And is legitimately trying to make them happen.

The draft definitely needs fixed, but I'm just not sold on the wheel. I like Silver too. I think we will see A LOT of change in the next 5-10 years under him. Most of that presumably for the better, I just hope we avoid a lockout.

Well game against a team we seem to always play well against tonight. What does Cope have to do to get more minutes? In the two games he has played since the All Star break he has given us solid minutes off the bench, but they came out of desperation more than anything else. Defense isn't really a valid point as neither Scola or Turner isn't good defensively, could argue neither is any better defensively than Cope

Just my opinion, but I've always thought that Cope's value was a little inflated last year because he was on a Knicks team that chucks 3's. Offensively, I don't think he can provide much more than chucking. I would agree defensively, though. Any word on Bynum? Would like to see him get a nice rhythm going with the guys well before playoff time.

I think Vogel doesn't trust him. I don't know why but he would be out there if not. I'm sure cope signed thinking he would be apart of the 8-9 man rotation.

He is coming soon!

Or at least that is the battle cry of the Pacers front office when confronted with any questions on Bynum.

I guess I can see that Cope. Though with Turner's style play of only passing the ball out of desperation and Scola not really being on recently I could see an argument made for him just chucking jump shots. And even CJ has a pretty quick trigger from time to time with the second unit.

I think most fans thought that was the case. I was fine with the explanation of defense early in the year, but I mean Scola would struggle to stay in front of just about every player in the NBA. And Turner is just so all over the place defensively.

I am biased of course, I like the dude, and when he is on with his size there aren't many who can even slow him down

I really like him wish he would get in could give the second unit some scoring that we desperately need
