Indiana hosts the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge game against Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. ET in Assembly Hall.

 

FIRST 7-0 START SINCE 2000
Indiana improved to 7-0 with its 87-38 win over USC Upstate on Dec. 1, marking the program's best start to a season since the beginning of the 2000-01 campaign when IU started 7-0. It is just the seventh time in school history that an IU team has began a season with a perfect 7-0 record. Indiana is the lone Big Ten with an undefeated record and one of just 23 nationally.

 

BIG TEN/ACC CHALLENGE
The 2013 Big Ten/ACC Challenge marks the seventh installment of the annual event for women's basketball. The Hoosiers hold a 3-3 record in the challenge and won last year's game vs. Clemson, 52-49, in Assembly Hall. IU has won its challenge game in two of the last years.

 

VIRGINIA TECH AT A GLANCE

Virginia Tech arrives in Bloomington scoring 71.9 ppg as a team and outscoring opponents by a plus-19.0 margin. The Hokies are limiting opponents to just 52.9 ppg while holding foes to 30.9 percent shooting from the field. VT is also getting it done on the boards, skying for 48.4 rpg, 12.4 rebounds more than its opponents this season. Senior forward Uju Ugoka is averaging a double-double with 16.6 ppg and 10.6 rpg and is shooting 51.1 percent from the field. Freshman Vanessa Panousis scores 12.9 ppg and leads the team in 3-point field goal shooting. Senior Monet Tellier tallies 10.4 ppg and leads the team in assists and is tied for the team lead in steals.
