I've been a Christian since November 16th, 1983, so thirty years last week. In that time, I've personally seen God at work in my life, and in the lives of those around me. I've seen things happen that could not have been explained away by human intervention or "chance". And I've seen my faith both ebb and flow through both good times and bad. I don't feel that I'm any different that any other person of faith. Certainly, I'm no better, and can't conceive of a scenario whereby I might think that. Hence, I never judge.

Having said that, in my thirty years of following Christ, I've also seen some rather ugly parts of my faith, (I really don't care for the word "religion"). I've seen bigotry, racism, hate, idolotry, materialism and judgementalism. I've seen a constant bombardment by a confluence of the Media, Agnostics, Athiests, and other religions and too often, I've seen our response to be to offer up even more evidence supporting their assertions. I don't profess by any means to be a quality individual and a paragon of Christian virtue, but I wish we'd stop shooting ourselves in the foot, and get back to reflecting the love of Christ to the world.

Can't wait till tomorrow for some church!  My wife and I may try a new church.  We were invited by a really nice older gentleman, and I want to honor that.  Only thing is his church is really not my style.  Doesn't play music, and is old fashion.  There is nothing wrong with that at all, but I prefer praise and worship music a lot.  Never hurts to go and try it out, plus, it's church!

Don't know if it's better to to put this here or music, so I'll copy & paste to both :) The Roadshow (formerly Rock & Worship Roadshow) is coming to Louisville Jan. 31. $10 tix at door. I've been in the past- this is a great experience! Skillet (honestly, rivals Crüe, etc for a live show), Third Day, We As Human (my absolute favorites-great hard rock), Jamie Grace, Andy Mineo and a few others. I'm not a fan of pop or rap, but the sets are pretty short, and the fans love them. Do yourself a favor and go!!!
