Ella might have been the most impressive 2028 I saw this weekend. She was hitting some big time 3’s in the arena as a player with a high release on her shot. With that high release, she did a nice job of catching the ball or even rebounding it high and keeping it up there. I liked how she crashed the boards and was able to get to the rim as well on her way to 15.6 ppg as the number five overall scorer in 16U. Her size, strength, and versatility is going to make her one of the most recruited players in the Southeast for years to come.

First game I've watched Ella Watts.  Listed at 6'1" but very skilled.  Runs the floor very well, sets solid screens and handled the ball with both hands oftentimes she was the one bringing the ball up the court.  Tonight's game was a total romp with Bob Jones winning 76-43 and upping its season record to 12-4.  Ella finished with 26p,  7r,  1a,  3s, 2t.  She shot 10-20 FG,  5-11 on 3s,  1-2 FT.   Her season averages are  16p,  8r,  2a,  2s,  1b,  3t

In a battle of IU offers, '28 Ella Watts and Bob Jones HS (26-7) were beaten 61-43 by '29 Kristen Winston and Hoover HS (35-1) for the Alabama 7A championship.  Hoover controlled the game from the outset and put tremendous defensive pressure on Bob Jones.  Game announcer said they had 17 first half turnovers.  Watts was a non-factor due to Hoover's denying her the ball.  She finished with just 4 points and only managed 6 field goal attempts after a season average of 15.5 ppg.  She did have 6 rebounds.
