Class of '66 Old Fart

IUMS vs Wisconsin - Friday, 09.15.23 @ 7:30

Recommended Posts

Hoosiers now (2-2-2) on the season after a scoreless tie with Wisky to open B1G play.  We've scored a grand total of 4 goals in 6 matches and if we can't find some offensive firepower this is not going to be a fun season.  In tonight's match we finished with 10 shots; just 2 on goal while Wisky had 6 and 1.

Next up for us is a 7:30 Tuesday evening home match against Butler.  Then next Friday night at 7:00 we're on the road in East Lansing.

Their is no obvious answer with the striker position up the middle and its bogs down the whole offense. Yeagley is the best in the business at solving early season issues but this is his biggest test yet with no clear answers on the roster who can create chances. The loss of Ryan Wittenbrink is far bigger than anyone including Yeagley realized.

Expectations may need to be adjusted to just making tournament again and keep the streak going of every year since 1986. They have the defense to do it, but unless something changes with the attack (and I'm not sure it will) the team will be sweating during the selection process for the first time since the 80's (unless they get the auto bid through Big Ten Tourney).
