Live Stats

Coming off a golden goal win over Omaha on Wednesday, Indiana men's soccer (6-3-1) is set for another non-conference matchup as Trine University (5-5) visits Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium Saturday (Oct. 9) at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The match will be streamed on the B1G Network+ digital platform with Will Trubshaw, Ta Laohajaratsang and Grace Ybarra on the call. Live stats are available at IUHoosiers.com.

SETTING THE SCENE
• Wednesday night's matchup marks the first-ever contest between the two programs.
• Indiana holds a 3-1-1 record against non-conference opponents this season.
• IU started the week well with a 1-0 double overtime win over Omaha on Wednesday (Oct. 6) as Victor Bezerra scored a golden goal with 21 seconds remaining.
• Bezerra has now scored in back-to-back matches. Both goals gave Indiana the lead at the time.
• Indiana holds a 4-1-1 record against non-conference opponents this season.

ABOUT THE THUNDER
• Trine is led by fifth-year head coach David Jacobs. He has compiled a record of 40-30-8 during his time with the Thunder.
• The Thunder are currently on a two-game losing skid, with one of those losses coming against another Division-I opponent in Notre Dame on September 28. The Fighting Irish won the match 13-0.
• Against non-DI opponents Trine has scored 18 goals over 10 matches this season while allowing just nine. Eight of Trine's goals have come from sophomore forward Tyler Murphy, who has tallied 17 total points on the season.
• The Thunder have turned to three different keepers this season. Sophomore Troy Saylor leads Trine in minutes played (570:06) and saves (29). Trine netminders have combined for three clean sheets this season.

HOOSIERS ON THE REBOUND
• For the third time during the 2021 season, IU was defeated (2-1) at home against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, October 1. The loss marked just the 16th setback for the Hoosiers in the regular season since the start of the 2014 campaign.
• In the matches immediately following a loss, Indiana holds a record of 12-0-4. IU has outscored its opponent 26-7 in those matches.
• IU bounced back from its first loss of the season (3-0 defeat to Creighton) with a 1-0 victory over Xavier on Sept. 6. After the Hoosiers fell in their Big Ten opener against Rutgers on Sept. 17, Indiana followed with back-to-back conference road victories at Northwestern (2-1) and Michigan State (1-0). The Hoosiers responded to the loss against Michigan with a 1-0 win over Omaha on Wednesday (Oct. 6)
• The Hoosiers have not sustained back-to-back losses in the regular season since the 2013 season.

The laugher it was expected to be.  Hoosiers with a 6-0 lead with 10 min. remaining in the first half.  Saw an earlier report that we're just the second D1 soccer opponent Trine has ever faced.  We've already had 20 shots with 9 on goal; Trine has yet to attempt a shot.

It was fun for the first 3 goals or so. Hopefully Stella gets it’s groove back. Trine is just north of Fort Wayne. Nice school.

Final score 9-0 with minutes spread over the entire roster as well they should have been.  Notably, Bezerra played just 25 min. and Celantano only the first half.  Trine limited to a single shot for the entire 90 min.  Hoosiers resume B1G play Tuesday night at 7:00 hosting O$U.  This match will be televised on the basic BTN channel.

The lone IU goal in the second half was by Ryan Wittenbrink on and assist from Herb Endeley.
