After 3 complete Hoosiers lead 5-4.  We scored 3 in the first and added 2 more in the 3rd.  Seiler was cruising with 2 outs in the 3rd but a walk and 2 hits and BSU scored its first run.  Successive hits made it 5-4 and only a near perfect throw to the plate from Jessee ended the inning and prevented the tying run from scoring.

A Whalen RBI single in our 4th made it 6-4.   Vega on the mound in relief of Seiler gave up a leadoff double and then a WP moved the runner to 3rd and a BB put runners on the corners with just 1 out.   A sac fly made it 6-5 after 4 full innings.

Neither team scored in the 5th and we didn't score in our 6th.  Vega started to struggle in the 6th and was replaced by Bothwell with runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs.  He got a force out to end the BSU threat.

6-5 Hoosiers lead after 6 complete.

Both teams picked up 3 runs in the 7th and it's the bottom of the 9th with Hoosiers leading 9-8 and Foley on the mound trying to preserve the win and he sets them down in order.  Hoosiers win 9-8 and move to 31-11 on the season.

Back to B1G play this weekend hosting Maryland (25-15) (8-4).

Man.. I saw that story last night and was just like... eeeeesh. Not good.

Admittedly... haven't had time to read the story though. The headline is a lot.

The Hoosiers (31-14, 9-6 B1G) game with Southern Indiana originally scheduled for Tuesday (May 9) at Bart Kaufman Field will not be played.

Smartest thing they could have done from a tournament perspective to secure at-large bid. Losing at Xavier will be worth the same in the RPI as beating Southern Indiana would have. However, beating Xavier will be worth several spots in the RPI. Also, Musky plays Cincy on Tuesday so IU will be at a pitching advantage.

Yep. Noticed all that. I believe I mentioned a week ago I would prefer to cancel the USI game.

And you know... if Purdue+NW weren't both 200+ in the RPI we might not have had to cancel on USI.

Bama fired their HC today. Believe it stems from some sort of gambling issue, but to what extent, I am not sure. Lots of smoke though.

Anyways--- two kids with direct Indiana ties on that roster. Along with 4 committed players from our state. I hope we can benefit from their dysfunction.

I read it as sitting starters, then either providing that info or betting on the games (somehow) himself. If that ends up being true, WHEW, that'll be ugly.

Saw a reporter on Outside the Lines at lunch saying that he contacted some sportsbooks and one said they received $35 total in bets and the other said 0 on the game in question. If this guy dropped a bag on a random LSU Bama baseball game, he deserves whatever he gets lol.

It was indeed that bad. Good lord.

Edit: this happened at Great American Ballpark’s sportsbook in Cincy which is located…………right off of Pete Rose Way.

I played college baseball with Bo. He was a great teammate and person. I just can’t see him doing something like this. I sure hope these allegations against him are false.

Hey Geometry Hoosier Take Two you’re outta here!!  Geometry Hoosier is back thanks to Hovadipo.

Almost worthless sidenote but my Son played a summer ball tournament on that field last summer.  My younger son said it smells like funky Skunk everywhere we went on and around campus. Lol.
