Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Lady Hoosiers (12-5) (2-2) on the road to face an emotional Northwestern (13-4) (2-2) team dealing with the death earlier this week of one of its players, Jordan Hankins, who played her high school ball at Lawrence North in Indianapolis. Prior to Wednesday's games, Indiana sits in No. 61 in the NCAA RPI while Northwestern comes in at No. 54. We have three active players on the all-time career blocks list. Senior guard Alexis Gassion leads the trio of players with 77 career swats, which ranks eighth all time. Junior forward Amanda Cahill also registers on the list with 73 blocks in her career which ranks tied for ninth while senior center Jenn Anderson has tallied 50 blocks in her career which is 11th all-time. Buss at 54 consecutive games of double digit scoring and hopefully gets #55 today. Background Game Notes Stats-Live Radio BTN2Go HoosierAloha 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Slow start for our Ladies and they trail 23-12 at the end of the 1st Q. Cold shooting and poor rebounding is not a good combination. hsrtxp 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 At the half, Lady Hoosiers trail 32-27. Gassion leading scorer with 8; Buss 6; Cahill 5; Anderson 4. Cahill 7 reb; Gassion 4. Only 4 pts. and 3 reb. from our bench. Shooting % and rebounding have to pick up in the 2nd half. hsrtxp 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Down 11 to start the 4th Q. Buss consecutive game streak in jeopardy as she only has 9 pts. through quarters. Only 2-12 FG's. Shooting and rebounding just haven't picked up. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Ladies got down early and could never claw their way back and lost to Northwestern 80-67. Horrible shooting for the team: 32% FG’s and 27% on 3’s. Gassion 2-12; Buss 4-17; Cahill 6-21 and we can’t win when those 3 collectively shoot that poorly. Buss did reach double digits with 14 points. Bench was ineffective contributing only 9 points and 5 rebounds and 3 of our 11 TO’s. in 50 minutes of bench play. Cahill and Anderson with 17 pts.; Buss 14; Gassion 10. Cahill with 13 reb; Gassion and Anderson with 5 each. Ladies return to Bloomington to take on PUke next Thursday evening. This game is scheduled to be televised on the basic BTN channel. ccgeneral 1 Quote

Lot of scoring and rebounding that has to be replaced. They'll be freshmen, but the '17 incoming class has the potential to see lots of minutes. hsrtxp 1 Quote
