Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn

There are a lot of scenarios where I agree. I think Rice is only going to be here for one year and I question Newtons health. What are your thoughts? -
(2025) - PF Eric Reibe to UConn

With the recent talk of the NCAA wanting everyone to have 5 years and after the recent covid year finally sputtering to an end, if there were a time that a season beginning injury appeal could be granted it would be now. Jmho. Back to Reibe, so he cancels to visits. Then he moves us up after Kansas and UConn. We give him a great opportunity. I think I like our chances. -

I don't think there is a prognosticator out there that sees him going anywhere other than IU. Carlyle, Rice, Tucker, Cupps, Newton, Haralson and Mullins. Petty impressive 1-3 depth. From all accounts the recruits that come in all love Woody btw. -

If we can get Goode back for a 5th year and only lose Mgbako and the other 5 seniors, perhaps a portal rim protector to complete the order. -

I hope he chooses the best fit for his basketball future. I'll be happy if we get him but I've went and watched him alot the last year and a half and part of me will be sad for him if he picks IU. There are coaching staffs out there that can put him in the league in two years. Ours isn't one of them. He needs a coach that runs elite offensive stuff that will benefit his development and exploit his skill set. -

I hope no one takes this wrong, but Barrel Rick is the only reason I think he is committing to IU. Geography is the only thing that makes sense. -

I may he wrong but he may play the market until the spring. He'll likely continue to climb the rankings. After Dybansta, Boozer and Peterson commit, he's in the driver's seat. Maybe Woody strikes again. -

This thread took a turn. It would be great if BR would come back with an update. -
Great find!

(2025) PG Chance Mallory to Virginia

This kid is the best pg in the country. I like Kayden Mingo alot too. But I prefer table setters that don't turn the ball over and defend their position at a high level. I've never been able to call a guy dominating the ball and leading a team in shot attempts a point guard. -
I have a friend that's family has been boosters since RMK. Now theyre just your average booster. I was told in February that a BOOSTER was preparing to get heavily involved. It could only be one of two groups and Woody answered that question on senior night. So the face of the richest family in the state has become the unofficial owner and GM of the IU Mens Basketball team. Everything I was told has happened. If he meets expectations and it all works to plan recruiting will open up. I will be shocked if Haralson doesn't verbal shortly after his visit. Developing a hs center is something they would like to add to the big man pitch. Kenya Hunter is great with bigs. They threw everything at Moreno, even added Howard to the staff, he just happened to live 20min from UK campus and that's impossible to overcome. This is my opinion, I think Woody will always be after the best big in the portal, I'm just not sure the continued depth of talent in the portal at the 5 will hold up.

No, it's IU with UK throwing money at it. They'll lighten up once they sign Jasper Johnson. Yes, two completely different recruitments. The aau thing a couple of years ago was very telling as well. -

Let's see how the Haralson visit goes. He's a Woody guy. If that's locked up before September 20th, things will change a little. -

Bob Cassidy had a great article on IU and Woodys position on the national recruiting scene. He said there was a lot of interest from recruits and he's well liked by who he talks to but the concerns are his seat heat. My guess is the negative recruiting against us is high. He concluded that a class of Mullins, Haralson and Tiller was very doable. I think if we get Reibe on campus, we'll land him. That's a helluva class. -

We have a massive amount of talent in the state of Indiana. J. Mitchell is in Evansville and the first offer we through put is to a kid that will be in the AJ Dybansta category while Underwood is working Mitchell. -

A lot of things transpire over the course of a year. As an old man, I can look at the decisions of young men and scratch my head. Then I remember that many of my own at 17 weren't what one would call "playing the long game." Moreno is a terrific kid and did what you would expect. I thought being the organizer of the group visit carried some weight, but unofficially the 3 had already been to Kentucky and I believe Braylon was offered roughly what I have in my 401k to sign. My biggest disappointment is that we don't have the environment at IU where Indiana kids still consider it their dream school. -

Interesting kid. Born in Germany. Lived here then Switzerland and came here as a sophomore. He patterns his game after Kristaps Porzingis. He's a lefty. Underrated passer, really good in the pick and pop. Runs the floor well. He's been living away from home for a few years. A school that puts bigs in the NBA and to play right away. November 1 appears to be his deadline. There's some video of him working out with Dickinson, I'm not sure that checks any of his boxes. 20 years ago he'd been labeled a Euro big. Most bigs are that now. At this same stage, he looks like a s slower Filipkowski to me. Next to Reneau that could work. -
