I think in 2 years, on the same timeliness as our current freshmen he would be worth it if we can get him. Hot motor, 7'7" wingspan and physically just starting to look like he's adding muscle. He can knock down an open shot. 35+ vertical. There's a lot to work with. But know he's not ready to play in the Big Ten. All of our freshman are pretty fragile physically. In 2 years if he's a 6'10 230lb rim protecting lob threat????

I wonder if the 5 year rule will effect the criteria for medical red shirt or redshirtting period as far as that goes.

I would see a definite need to split the bigs then. Graves at his best is with a big that isn't clogging the paint on offense. His game is similar to Deni Advijas. Sherrel and Graves would be exceptional. Then back those two up with Turk and Sisley. That would be pretty incredible. Still the question would be, of the plethora of wings we have, will one be "the dude." If given the fantasy choice between Graves and Momcilovic, I'd have to go Momcilovic.

The recruitment of Wang has been a nice way to slowly detox from Portal Fever. I'm still think someone Wang-like while we're cooking up a deal for Momcilovic.

Belmont is perfect for him, next year he'll be a shooter with positional size in the portal getting overpaid by a p5 school.

We're waiting on something. There are plenty of great teammates out there to fit the culture. Probably will still be after the draft process. I think we're still up to something.

There were a couple of summers in a row that I went to a lot of events. I'd compare my thoughts to what a lot of the scouts would say. Why not I'm an iu fan in my 50's I know everything. So I go back to look at what the 247 scout wrote about the kids out of high school. Aristotle had the dreaded "motor" questions. It's hard to catch the intangibles that can ruin chemistry unless you're there to see these kids live. I'd love Nico Budalo as our 3rd big, based on effort and measurables, but he's nuttier than a squirrel turd. Year 1a needs to be successfully safe. No craziness or character gambles. I think we have that now. Top 6 in the Big Ten. Set our identity. Coach needs to prove a couple of things. Can he coach elite talent and can he win a tournament game. I'll take a live body with experience as third big and let's take a run at Momcilovic. That means we wanna win the conference. Hell, then give a senior walk on the third scholly..

I think the volume 3 big wing is the difference between 6th in the Big Ten and in the hunt down the stretch. Mostly because of my hesitancy to totally trust Coach's ability to come out of his offensive comfort zone. If we play 4 out for 20 minutes running a lot of last years stuff I don't know he THE GUY will be.

Yes, that would be funny. But what we don't have is an impact wing. We have a group made up of promising but not ready and "hope they're better with us." I was being wishful and pretty specific with hopes for an impact player. He would push one of Mustaf or Harris to 6th man. Someone's going to throw a bundle at him. Why not us.

I think we're still keeping some powder dry for a potential starter. We have a roster and a style to promote. We have money for that type of add. There are several bargain bigs left ot there.

(Top 20, better than 6th in conference) there should plenty of mop up minutes for a third big, to include injury/foul trouble. If Sherrell does average over 30 minutes it means he's under 250 and in great shape. I hope Burton can complete a season playing around 33 minutes a night.

Absolutely I think there is hope that Harris is the scoring wing with renewed confidence. He's capable of shooting in the high 30's in high volume from deep. It will allow Coach to continue to run alot of the stuff he's more comfortable with. Sisley is going to be a glue guy small ball 4 and should excel in that role. Mustaf as a versatile defender that can keep the defense honest seems like a good plan for him. Burton changes everything if healthy. There's a world where we're a top 4 team in the Big and another where we creep into the tournament 11-9.

I think someone of size will be added. I'm not so sure they'll be expected to play much and we probably won't be overly excited. I do still hold out hope for a starting caliber wing shooter that would push the ones we have a notch down the bench. Let the combine get closer.
