  1. One of my favorite roster constructions was Willards 24-25 Maryland team. He just didn't have a bench. Still finished second in the Big Ten and went to the sweet 16. 2 bigs, 2 3&d wings and a floor general. My fingers are crossed that is what we're doing. Burton, Mustaf, Harris, Sherrell, and a competent center.
  2. I'm think beside the money, you sell Sherrell on being the 4 and that we'll be playing a 2 big lineup in the Big Ten. He does have a strong Julius Randle game to his vibe. He's bigger though. Get who we're rumored to get and a complement big and another 4/5 backup. Although I'd give my left pistachio for Allen Graves.
  3. That's the game now. Thats why GM Carr should be of value. If he is directly engaged with Sherrells agen, who else is on the client list.
  4. I'm liking the vibe in here. This time next week we'll be locked up on the perimeter with a vast improvement in depth and p5 experience. Then we can debate and critique the bigs we're after. Hopefully Sherrell will be ready to sign and all we'll need is a sidekick for AS and a little depth
  5. Makes sense. I think the play for Sherrell would be the 4 in a two big lineup. As much as the money, I think his idea of fit will matter.
  6. Looks like a a 3rd big prospect.
  7. Why haven't we reached out to Najai Hines for f sake? Him and Sherrell together would be lethal. We put a feeler on Donnie Syracuse. All I can think is, the bigs we have reached out to, have some perimeter skills.
  8. I'm feeling pretty good about this. Sherrell, Khamania, Mustaf and Burton with Harris and Clark off the bench would be outstanding. I think Reibe as the back-up 4/5 would be outstanding. Doubt he would want to come here for that. I think with those above names and a big ten caliber 5 we can compete at a high level.
  9. I wonder what Tennessee's fanbase feels like.
  10. I've been hard on Kenny and Drew, but I think they're the lead on our 3 visits. Our big money assistants need to deliver.
  11. BOOM I agree totally. I think as important as Sherrell would be, the depth behind him and the complimentary big playing beside him is just as important. If we were looking to put him on an island as our lone starting big, it might not be as enticing for him. I assume he is wanting to fashion himself as a Big with range and more of a 4 in the mold of a Julius Randall. Just my take. If he gets on campus next week and we have the 3 guards locked up and in talks with another true 5, I think we get him. I also like the response he had to the sh7tty 68. He's looking for fit as much as money.
  12. I followed that last year, it was solid through the first month.
  13. I agree with all points, but as a back-up to Burton, I think it would be great.
  14. Good point. How about Elijah Freeman at the 3?
  15. Allen Graves in the portal with a do not contact tag. He'd be the Yaxel replacement. He'd be a perfect operator off the ounce to go along with Sherrell. There won't be another entry I'm higher on than this kid.
  16. Like that with Sherrell and one more. With the wings and guards we are looking at the money shouldn't be a problem.
  17. What makes this an exciting team? 4/5: $$$$, $$$, $$, Acamovic Wing: Mustaf, Harris, Karvala, Sisley, Manhertz Point: Burton, Clark, Moody * There are a number of bigs out there. Reibe the most recent. Sherrell is the big ticket. I'd love him, With any number of guys. And if Juke was the Harris in this equation. This 4/5 situation won't be solved by just Sherrell.
  18. Scharnowski from Belmont would be interesting as the big off the bench.
  19. I don't think anyone knows what we can spend. I think it will depend largely with the sequence of the talent acquisition and how promising the talent appears to be along with fit. I couldn't imagine spending 20+ because of the results Kentucky had, but I'm sure the money people understand why we will need to outbid for talent considering our current situation. I think if we can them in and it makes sense, the money will be there.
  20. My next layer would be to find a tandem of nasty immovable but reasonably affordable centers to rotate in and then blow the bank on the best wing money can buy. After that Mustaf at the 2 and Harris as the first guard off the bench sounds pretty good. An absolute bucket getter at the 3 would be icing on the cake. For some reason I think we're going to get pretty close to something like this......
  21. We just have to get Burton and Sherrell and the rest will follow.
  22. There's enough of the IU fanbase that has pretty advanced bbIQ. We know enough to know when a team is talented and underperforming and why when we listen to the mumblings of an incompetent coach. We know enough to know when a mid major coach has no staff and tries to build a P5 roster, that we're screwed. There's an extreme branch of that group that goes ape sh7t on social media, and an insane subset that writes hate letters. We have more than a passing interest in our basketball team. If he finds a way to pull in an interesting portal group and then gets that into the top 5 of conference and wins a game or 2 in the tournament by outcoaching the opposite bench.....this all changes. We gave Woody a fortune for his last year. We are probably pumping a fortune into this year to fix it. Have faith brothers.
  23. If we were going to get a Belmont player I would like Scharnowski the PF.
  24. OK, Brumbaugh, Fiegan, Sisley, Olsen and Buljin and overpay for all of them. Keep Acamovic, play all three frosh,,,,add a couple of late low majors. Have a similar year and say f it.
