This was my favorite game as well. The pre-game narrative was all about how whether IU could slow down the Runnin’ Rebels. Instead of playing a slow paced game, Knight had us play at their pace and we beat them at their own game.

I was listening to Dusty and Danny on Sirius this morning and they mentioned some country singer who is a Notre Dame fan and threw out the idea of having a concert with all the gate being donated to the ND NIL coffers. Evidently Bon Jovi piped in and said he was in as well. D and D then went on to mention a few other performers who are big college football fans and whether this could become a thing. So, other than Mellencamp, who else could support IU in a meaningful way?

This is all fine to pass the time talking about this while we wait for Woodson to get let go. But there’s no way, after the football season we just had, that Dolson is in jeopardy. For the majority of college athletics, football is driver of the athletic department. IU is just now joining that party. The success of Cig and his program is going to far overshadow the basketball program

Changing ADs at this point won’t change the dynamics. Until Buckner is out, anyone in the AD position is going to be hamstrung

Positive— can’t deny the grit, heart and passion they showed in the second half. Negatives— The move to a zone was a disaster. Guys didn’t know where they were supposed to be. Only reason I can think of for making that move was to protect guys in foul trouble. Galloway’s miss on the front end was huge. But if you would have told me that both Goode and Rice would miss a free throw down the stretch, have called you a crazy man. During the second to last time out, if it wasn’t emphasized that we had a foul to give, that’s on the coaches. If it wasn’t emphasized that, then it’s on a Senior who is a coach’s son and has to know better. As has been said, the last possession was a cluster. If you continue to play the game believing your best lineup is two bigs, then you have to live and die with it. Leave both bigs in, get them the ball in the paint, and hope they either score or get fouled trying. Woodson was out coached and is clueless. I saw Reneau yelling at him as well. As much as this team has underperformed, they deserve better coaching than what they have gotten
