Agreed. But there is a way to criticize without calling someone a POS. There's always that concept of being the bigger/better person. There's also always the idea of not allowing this board devolve into what Big Blue Nation has become, and what many on here make fun of.

Yes, I've seen it said in here that there should be special places in hell for those involved. Seen Woodson called a POS. I stated for a while that I am in favor of Woodson being terminated. I also stated that I wouldn't be involved in any sort of character assassination. No need to go down that road, imo. Only makes the poster(s) and this forum look bad.

Maybe the announcement will happen today. Not holding my breath though. Wasn’t there supposed to be an announcement earlier this week about a guy entering the portal who wants to play for IU regardless of who is the coach? Never happened. Got pretty heated in the Fire CMW thread over Beard. This is the spot for that discussion, and as I just read this tonight, want to chime in. There were several absolutes thrown around… 1. Beard is an alcoholic. Has that been verified? Or is that based on the one public incident? 2. IU optics being what they are, no way is he hired…The Cleveland Browns signed a quarterback as the face of their franchise who had multiple incidents of abuse towards women. The stands were still full regardless. 3. We would be pilloried by the national media for hiring Beard. Maybe. Or maybe not. Tom Izzo has turned a blind eye to multiple transgressions in his program. Yet he is revered by the media. I’m not condoning what Beard did one bit. In no way is it right to harm a woman. I also believe in the idea of second chances for people who have seriously addressed their issues. A famous guy once said, “ Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast stones.” I ‘m afraid I don’t qualify.

I’m not cranky about it at all. I’m not happy with the performance of this team, but don’t really care how much they are getting paid. If it was my money, or the university’s for that matter, then it’s a different story.

Agree with you, but that wasn’t the point. It’s not our investment, so as the post I quoted suggests, “who cares?”
