You do realize that he inherited an All-American talent in TJD. You do realize that we were blown out in the round of 64 one year and the round of 32 the next. You do realize that the Big Ten is not good this year and we struggled. You do realize that Painter won the Big Ten starting 2 freshmen guards last year. Make all the excuses you want for coach Woodson. I have higher standards for the program.

Pearl's and Drew's extensions should be announced soon.

In 2019-2020, IU went 20-12 and finished 34th in Kenpom, IU is currently 85th in Kenpom. Argue all you want, but you would be wrong. -
St Johns vs Connecticut is 47 to 52 at the half. Can we score that many points in a half? Is that allowed?
-
Yes, because based on the talent we will have underachieved for a third straight year.
-
Yes. The Atlantic 10 has been a multiple bid league several times.

Just spit balling some names for Michigan- Oats, Otzelberger, Anthony Grant, and Drew Valentine. -
The big shot for Purdue was a three from Fletcher Loyer with about 30 seconds to go in a tied game. Would IU even have the cajones to shoot a three in that situation?

Don't they say that dogs imitate their owners? :)

I love Malik. He seems to be a great young man and an outstanding representative for our university. I agree that offensively, Malik can be one of the best players in the Big Ten next year. His defense is still a work in progress. At times this year, Malik missed some opportunities to pass out of double teams. In an early game next year against one of our weaker opponents, I would love for the staff to challenge him to simply focus on how many assists he can get in a game. This would help develop Malik's game and potentially increase our three-point attempts.

Eh...not so fast with the positivity. The set didn't get us a great shot. We got a forced shot in traffic, then Leal made a play. The outcome was great, but let's not act like it was a great set. If you want to say "in theory" it was a great set, then sure. But the actual executed play didn't get us a clean look.
-
Yep. I think you are correct. I re-read the article. Looks like the play was to get Johnson free and then he had options. Leal was the one who said I knew we were going to Malik (Lik-o),
-
I read somewhere that Woodson said the play was designed to get Reneau or Johnson the shot.

We're 6th in the nation! Yep, IU basketball is ranked 6th in KenPom's "Luck" rating. Look out Tarleton State. IU is coming for that number 1 ranking. :)

PSU's only tall player had fouled out. How do you not run a play for Ware in that situation? It worked out, but I think Ware would have been the better option.
-
Where's the guy that said we needed to win so Woodson could retire on a high note? I took him at his word.

Nebraska is a good matchup. Ware should dominate the interior again. As long as Nebraska doesn't go crazy from three, we should win. -

Kel'el has been an absolute stud these last 5 games and has been our difference maker on both ends. I'm happy for him. His NBA dream should come true. The staff deserves credit for developing his game and running more plays for him as the season progressed. I think a shout out should go to Cliff Marshall as well. Ware appears to be falling away less, playing stronger and more aggressive on the interior. -

The sad thing is that it took the staff half the year to realize the value of Leal's experience and understanding of the rotations. He's a good player to bring in off the bench. Who knows what our ratings would be if Leal had played more earlier in the year. -

Yes. I think he'll be like Brad Davison when he's a junior and senior. Just a pesky player that makes plays. He won't be a star, but a solid contributor. -

Cupps doing a respectable job guarding Ace Baldwin so far.
