I believe Woodson supporter, NGW7183, stated a few weeks ago that there will be a change to Woodson's coaching staff this off-season. Who leaves- Hunter, Rosemond, or Walsh? Rosemond is supposed to get us Bruce Thornton in the portal, so I think he stays. I believe that Walsh was the lead recruiter on McNeeley so I would think Walsh is safe. That would mean that Kenya better be trying for that Detroit Mercy job.

NBA brotherhood? Real Estate?
-
Me just guessing again, Ware will go pro and most likely MgBako too. Leal will just move on. Everyone else will put their names in the portal to evaluate their value. A handful will return because IU will be the highest bidder. It's going to be an expensive NIL roster.
-
Yep, Sampson missed out on two championships because he was an idiot that couldn't play by the rules.
-
I heard/read somewhere, and I can't remember if it was here or Dakich on Two Big Brains, that Woodson and Buckner want to be the modern-day Georgetown. They think with our NIL, tradition, and Woodson we can attract NBA bound kids to IU and constantly compete for titles. First, I think that's a laugh. Secondly, I don't want to be that type of program. I don't think that's a sustainable model.

Is there any chance that we can bring in Dusty as an assistant coach/head coach in waiting for 1 year? I know if would be frustrating to Dusty, but d@mmit, I'm desperate.
-
My guess is boosters that smoke cigars and drink wine with Woodson after home losses.
-
The portal is our new normal. Purdue will run the model collegiate program and we will reload with 70% mercenaries every year. It saddens me that we have become that type of program. IU- the best team money can buy! Come see Happy for your cash! Buckner, Woodson, and Dolson are an embarrassment for turning our program into this.

I think all these players have pride. The team/Woodson was booed at home. They are playing in front of a lot of empty seats. That's one reason they are playing harder. I doubt any player was forthright with Dolson about Woodson. No one wants to talk about their boss to higher ups for fear of reprisal. Parents may be chirping, but I would guess the players didn't have a whole lot to say.

The last couple of games we've has crews that didn't call a lot of fouls. There were just 21 total in this game. Hopefully, this will continue against Michigan State and the BTT. We benefit when fewer foul are called in the game. Our defense needs Ware on the court and not sitting with fouls. Fewer fouls means that we shoot fewer free throws and we all know we are terrible at the line.

Mike Woodson to return as coach next season
JF87 replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I have no excitement about next year. We already know that we aren't going to compete for the Big Ten title or make the Sweet 16. Now I know how Pittsburgh Pirates fans feel. -
I thought a lot of that was our defense tonight. Minnesota is not as well coached as Penn State. They didn't have a lot of movement which made playing defense easier.
-
I'm still sticking with MgBako going pro. He's playing better the last month. MgBako will start showing up in mock drafts again.

Woodson's system can beat teams with lesser athletes/talent. His system has little chance of beating teams with equal or greater athletes/talent. Every time we've played quality opponents outside the conference we've been worked over. His system is also susceptible to teams that move, screen and shoot the three well (See Penn State). Wisconsin, Maryland, and Minnesota were all much less talented than we are.
-
The Big Ten is not good. We have more high-level talent than most teams, especially Minnesota. Other than Izzo, Mike Woodson does less with more than any other coach in the Big Ten.
-
Obviously, we'll never know but I disagree that a younger Woodson would have been better than Archie. Woodson has NIL to pull in top recruits. Without NIL, Woodson's recruiting would be atrocious.
-
We now know what we had already assumed. It was never about an IU guy. It was always about giving the job to Woodson, period.
-
Read the room. Not the time.
-
Can we assume that Dolson was doing background work on possible candidates if the season spiraled out of control?
-
Dolson can't say the truth. The Cook's and the Simons wanted Mike to get another year. As the AD, you don't lose the golden gooses. So, Woodson gets another year.
-
Assume you're Scott Dolson making the decision on whether Mike Woodson is getting a year 4. What's the most concerning issue? Won/loss record this year and underperforming last 2 year based on the talent on the roster? Style of play? Roster construction? Lack of recruiting foundation and no in-state recruiting? Offseason player departures tied to his return?
-
Roster of 12. We don't need no extra stinkin' guard.
-
I would love to see a national breakdown of wins per NIL dollars spent.
-
We have 1 recruit coming in next year with at least 2 scholarships open and most likely 4-5 scholarships that will be open. I have a hard time believing that there isn't a late bloomer in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, or Michigan for IU to offer. The unwillingness or inability of this staff to find diamonds in the rough to develop is unbelievable.
