  1. I'd like for us to sign a top/star player in the first couple of days, then we can pitch to other recruits that you'll be playing with player X.
  2. I do think Woodson was partially responsible as well. My guess is that the only way Dusty would have been our coach after Woodson's 3rd year, is if Mike Woodson would have willingly retired and endorsed Dusty. Mike wasn't willing to do that since he was delusional and thought he was a good coach. I don't think Dusty would have wanted anything to do with running off a former star player and fracturing the fanbase and IU financial supporters.
  3. Cupps definitely needs to leave the Big Ten. The Atlantic 10 or the MAC would be a good fit for him.
  4. This is funny, but also so painful.
  5. I'm willing to withhold judgement on Devries until after this coming year. I am concerned with our second half collapses and how much of those can be contributed to not being able to adjust after the other teams adjusted. Devries seems like a good guy, and I want him to succeed. However, I'm getting older so I hope we can determine if someone is the guy in 2-3 years and don't have to wait 4 years.
  6. This ended up being the difference in the game.
  7. Be careful! That's what i said about Brad Stevens. :O)
  8. Obviously, we need to see improvement from everyone who returns. I think Dorn returns as a starter which means that we only have to fill 4 starting positions. I think Sisley returns as a rotational player. I saw enough effort from Miles to think with development he can give us some bench minutes again. I barely saw Ristic play and I haven't seen Harris or Acimovic play. If I had to choose between Harris, Ristic, and Acimovic; I guess that I would choose Acimovic only because I like the idea of the last player being a developmental center.
  9. At first, I thought this was a day-old April Fool's Day joke. I don't want to get political, but I don't believe this is the way of addressing this issue.
  10. I have faith in Carr, DeVries, and staff to bring in the necessary talent. However, to paraphrase Oscar Schmidt, I hope they bring in some players that can play the piano and also some players that can move the piano. Last year, I thought we had too many piano players and not enough movers.
  11. If we're going to overpay, pay for proven production and not optics and perceived talent.
  12. Woodson didn't recruit him very hard. Unfortunately, there wasn't a first-class golf course in Greenfield.
  13. Do we really want 2 starters from a team that finished 15th in the conference?
  14. I'd prefer to see the Big ten return to 10 teams so we can do a true round robin in the regular season for basketball. In your scenario, I would keep Penn State and show Northwestern the door.
  15. I'm going with the under. No way that he gets tossed in this big of a game.
  16. IU, Kentucky, and Louisville couldn't hire a "Big Name" coach. It will be interesting to see who North Carolina can reel in. I would have to believe they had a coach lined up before firing Hubert Davis. I think Mark Few makes sense, but if he was the man, it would have been announced by now. Since nothing has been announced it most likely a coach who is still coaching. Donovan may be a possibility because I believe his run at the Bulls is nearing an end. However, he may prefer coaching in the NBA. I don't see Dusty May leaving Michigan for North Carolina since Michigan has similar resources and less pressure. That would leave Lloyd or Underwood, both of whom would be intriguing choices.
  17. That team had length, front court depth, 3-point shooting, a bulldog for a point guard, and a do-it-all NBA bound player in Jeffries. That's the formula to replicate.
  18. NC State must feel like West Virginia right now. Of course, with a few more teeth.
  19. Sound like LSU is going to make Wade a strong a$$ offer!
  20. Mark Few turns 64 in December. Would there be mutual interest between UNC and Few? Few may be too comfortable being the legend at Gonzaga to make the move, but UNC would be his last chance at winning a title because it isn't going to happen at Gonzaga. UNC could hire Few and an assistant with Carolina ties as a replacement coach in waiting.
  21. For us, this may be the difficult part. Really good players are looking for money, a pipeline to the NBA and looking to play in the tournament. Right now, our selling points are playing time and money. We don't have any recent Tournament success, and I don't believe DeVries has put anyone into the NBA yet. For top tier talent, we may need to overpay. Hopefully, Carr is able to work some magic with convincing some agents and players that we are a destination school. If not, we'll have to find some quality players in the second tier.
  22. Sounds like Brad Stevens is stringing them along. :o)
  23. Yes, but he was in witness protection.
  24. I believe that if North Carolina was to offer Few, he would accept. I think Carolina would be his chance at an NCAA title. Few may be happy enough at Gonzaga that he would decline all offers, but Nort Carolina would have to be one that he would give real consideration.
  25. If UNC moves on from Davis, they better already have a deal in place before cutting him loose. Looking at the top 15 in kenpom, there are only a handful of coaches that would be considered high profile enough and would possibly leave their current situations for the high expectations of UNC. I will make this statement. Brad Stevens will never be welcome in Indiana again if he would take the UNC job.
