  1. Hoiberg is a solid coach. It took him 4 years to get it rolling at Nebraska. Win totals his first 4 years at Nebraska were 7, 7, 10, and 16. Many of the people on this board would have run him off. Hoiberg had a solid track record coaching at Iowa State, sometimes it just takes a few years to develop a program.
  2. I'm watching the MVC. Based on the size and talent, I think IU has a very good MVC roster. :)
  3. The year has been disappointing. I get it. I'm choosing to be optimistic about DeVries.
  4. If you continued reading the post, you would have seen that I said "It sounds like DeVries is willing to make the adjustments needed to win in the Big Ten."
  5. I actually think it's encouraging that DeVries is willing to admit his mistakes. I prefer this to the previous know-it-all that refused to listen to anyone. It sounds like DeVries is willing to make the adjustments needed to win in the Big Ten.
  6. I still think Devries can be successful at IU. However, I think if McDermott retired, DeVries would be begging Creighton to take him out of the IU pressure cooker.
  7. I'm paraphrasing Dakich, but when he used to announce I remember him saying that "one team came to play basketball, and the other team came out to win a basketball game". That's what we witnessed in the first half.
  8. Thornton is going to be a tough matchup. He's built like a linebacker, and we have no one that can match him physically. It's going to be hard to keep him from driving to the hoop.
  9. Let's assume Miami (OH) loses in the MAC Tournament. How about a Miami (OH) vs IU matchup in Dayton?
  10. I know the NET ranking would probably have Miami (OH) outside the field of 64 if they lose in their conference tournament, but I still would like to see them in.
  11. Question for you bracketologists. Is more emphasis put on proving you can beat good teams (Q1 wins) or avoiding bad losses (Q3 or lower)?
  12. I was as frustrated as most fans with Bailey's play this year. The frustration probably had more to do with the team results that I and others directed at him. To his credit, Bailey plays with effort. I hope he and the other seniors consider themselves Hoosiers and enjoyed representing IU.
  13. I'm probably wrong, but it felt like Archie never won on senior night.
  14. I know it doesn't matter in this game, but I wish we would learn to take a little time off the clock before forcing up a shot when we have a decent lead.
  15. Good start. I'm watching to see if we can sustain concentration on the defensive end or if we get up and relax.
  16. Would we get an NIT invite and would we even accept?
  17. We're not beating the Ohio State team that I saw today. I doubt we can beat Minnesota at this point.
  18. We score a couple of baskets and then relax on defense. This team is made up of scorers and not winners.
  19. This team guards the three worse than Woodson's team. We can't cheat off shooters.
  20. The fact that the ref instinctively gave it to Mich State is all you need to know about our lack of home court advantage from officials.
