I really think it comes down to NBA arrogance. In the minds of Woodson, Buckner, Thomas, and the Simons the NBA is superior to college basketball. So, an NBA coach should have no problems coaching college basketball. The problem with that thinking is the needed skillset for a college coach differs from that of an NBA coach and they're just too egotistical to admit it.

Agree, but it's not a bad thing if some deserving teams are left out. It makes the regular season and the conference tournaments more important. Just don't let the powers that be use a few bubble exclusions as an excuse to expand the Tournament in the future.

We lost by 27. We were behind big the entire second half. We shot 20 total three-point shots for the game. What was our second half gameplan? The efficiency needed on two-point shots to make up our deficit would be an unrealistic expectation. Our coach is living in the past and has no clue of the game today.

I choose to believe that the IU Administration cares about the men's basketball program and that the decision makers are smart enough to realize that coach Woodson is not the answer. I hope that the possibility of change in the next two weeks is closer to 50% than 5%. I may be naive, but I have to think that the Administration will put the good of the program ahead of Mike Woodson's ego.

Our program needs to be rebuilt and Mike Woodson has shown that he's not the guy to rebuild it. No high school recruits, no team identity, no culture, archaic offense, and slow to make adjustments. No reason to give Woodson another year.

The program needs a new direction and definitely needs someone new to drive the bus.

You tell an employee the expectations and requirements for continued employment. If they fail to meet them, they are terminated. The ability to keep their job was in the employee's hands. So, by choosing to violate the rules or failure to meet expectations, in essence the employee fires themself.

Yes. Nebraska is currently 37th in the NET rankings. Beating a top 50 team on a neutral court is a quad 1 win.

Sampson fired himself. All he had to do was not cheat. Sampson was caught cheating at Oklahoma and promised IU that it wouldn't happen again. The NCAA handed down 5-year show cause penalty to Sampson, so it was a big deal. There is no doubt that Sampson could have been a great coach here. He chose to throw that opportunity away. Don't blame the university for expecting their coaches to play by the rules. I would be embarrassed if we didn't have high standards.

KenPom Ratings provide a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of a team’s abilities beyond just their win-loss record. Currently, IU is 85th, in 2019-2010 we finished 34th. Although this isn't the tool the committee uses, finishing 34th will usually get you in the tournament as an at-large invitee, 85th will not. I hope that helps.

You do realize that he inherited an All-American talent in TJD. You do realize that we were blown out in the round of 64 one year and the round of 32 the next. You do realize that the Big Ten is not good this year and we struggled. You do realize that Painter won the Big Ten starting 2 freshmen guards last year. Make all the excuses you want for coach Woodson. I have higher standards for the program.
