Yes, but will that shiny bauble have connections to Indiana high school coaches and Indiana AAU programs? Possibly, but that was part of the allure of Dusty that too many want to gloss over.

Devries is a brave man with Huggins still hanging around the program. Fan base could turn quickly if Devries doesn't win right away. -

Zero. That ship has sailed. Our inept leadership felt it was important to give mediocre Mike another year. -

Michigan had an excellent former college coach help identify coaching candidates. IU has former players that know more about the NBA than the college game make our hiring decisions. What they say about data is true- garbage in, garbage out. -
I haven't reached the apathy stage with IU basketball yet, but I know IU alums and fans that have. I'm still in the anger phase. The wealthy Woodson supporters may buy him a tournament team for next year, but I know that we will underperform no matter what talent is on the roster. My days of enjoying and being proud of IU basketball are most likely on hold until a new coach is hired.

What the heck was the IU administration thinking? -

Will Kentucky really fire Coach Calipari? Supposedly, they are having a meeting today. I just don't see it happening. They would have to know that Louisville would hire him immediately and I don't think Kentucky would want Cal in Louisville. -
Fire Mike Woodson!

I like Shaka, but IU may be too high stress for him. He didn't seem to be comfortable at Texas. I think Chris Collins would kill it with our resources.

All three of them would be solid choices for Louisville. Although, I'm not sure Holloway would leave Seton Hall. Shaheen Holloway, Pat Kelsey and Amir Abdur-Rahim. -

My guess is that Louisville pivots to Will Wade or sees if UCLA is willing to let Cronin go at a discounted buyout. -

I have a feeling that we are going to keep Ware and make him one of the highest paid college basketball players. Ware, Reneau, and MgBako could take up close to $3.5 million of our $6 million NIL. Galloway, Leal, Cupps, and Newton is probably another million combined. That leaves 1.5 million to fill our remaining needs. -
I'm so depressed. IU is a joke. Something that once gave me so much pleasure is now hard to root for. I like all the kids that put on the uniform but hate the style of play and the way the program is being run. We are going to have to have superior talent to win because of our system and coaching.

Dolson's career should now be riding on the failure or success of Mike Woodson. Regardless of how Cignetti pans out. IU is running the basketball team like a professional franchise. A good professional franchise would move on from a mediocre coach when a better option is available. The NBA does it all the time. Just last fall, the Cubs moved on from a well-liked David Ross when a better manager was available. The fact that IU is sticking with Woodson is a failure by Dolson and Dolson's career should be determined by Woodson's success or failure.

I wonder if the big donor that wanted Scott Drew wasn't on board and Dusty thought it would be better to take the Michigan job. -
Dusty may or may not be the right choice. After underperforming with an All-American talent his first two years and multiple 4 and 5 stars this year, we know that Mike Woodson is not the right choice.

You're right. I think a true point guard is what Izzo is missing. I deleted my post, because the data doesn't back up my thoughts.

Did Tom talk about KathywithaC. :)

Does IU have an NIL hierarchy? Are MgBako and Reneau being paid the same? If we pay someone from the portal a huge amount of money, will we have to make sure that Reneau's and/or MgBako's NIL packages matches it? Just wondering how all this works? -
You got me there. I would take Danny Hurley over Dusty. But it would be close. :)

Clutch free throws down the stretch win it for San Diego State. Two Final Four teams from last year, FAU and San Diego St, had games today. FAU lost because they missed a front end of a one-and-one with about 20 seconds left. San Diego St advanced because they hit their free throws in the last minute. The margin for error is so thin in a lot of these games. Hopefully, Galloway and Reneau are in a gym shooting free throws today.

At least Louisville is getting a new coach. We're stuck with Mediocre Mike. I'd take Dusty over Woodson easily.
-
I hope not. That would still give us time to hire Dusty. Dusty > Woodson
-
We know Woody isn't the answer. Give me #2, the successful mid-major coach. At least there's a chance you win the lottery with number 2.
