  1. Pretty good olympics overall with 11 medals. That women’s 200 breast was great to watch. I was really happy to see Zach Apple finish with a WR on the relay after that 4x200.
  2. That was an awesome relay to watch. I’m excited to see what Apple can do in the 100 himself after that anchor.
  3. I don’t have anything solid but I’d guess Gaines chooses Iowa St. No idea on Miller.
  4. Was IU there to watch him or were they there for someone else? Have you heard if IU has had any contact recently?
  5. Here’s a good summary of all the olympians tied to IU. I haven’t listened to the interviews yet, but they’ll probably come out in a podcast soon. https://swimswam.com/ray-looze-on-lilly-king-i-dont-think-weve-seen-her-best-video/
  6. So far tonight 3 of the top 7 in the men’s 200 free and 3 of the top 4 of the women’s 100 breast have ties to Indiana.
  7. I just scanned through the top 16 of each event so I definitely missed some. I saw the finals last night from 8-9. They didn’t show the prelim of the 100 breast for some reason but I was able to stream that when the coverage cut off.
  8. The first full day of swimming trials is over. There were (by my count, so don’t take it as absolute truth) 4 swimmers with IU ties. Zane Grothe - trains with the pro group at IU. Didn’t make the final in the 400 free but could make the Olympic team by having made the time standard. Josh Matheny - incoming athlete. 6th in the 100m breast going into final tomorrow. Cody Miller - alum training with the pro group. Tied for 11th in the 100 breast. Zane Backes - current athlete. Placed 15th in the 100 breast.
  9. I just realized both DeWitt and Steele are from Fort Wayne and the same club. Im pretty sure I had their coach for a few years.
  10. I assume they’ll air 1-2 hours of finals and highlights at some point but it may not be live.
  11. The women got a commitment from a German sprinter. It’s always nice to bring people in that have a shot at a Big Ten A final as Fr. https://swimswam.com/german-sprinter-katharina-wrede-sends-verbal-commitment-to-indiana-for-2022-23/
  12. https://swimswam.com/trio-of-indiana-all-america-men-returning-to-use-5th-year-in-2021-2022/ BiG news for next year! That team can be really good.
  13. That is super impressive.
  14. I saw some related news this morning. Per the Indy star, Andy Bayer has retired. He was a 1500 national champ at IU and had a legit shot at making the Olympic team.
  15. IUPUI would make sense. Purdue (I could be wrong here) doesn’t have a law school and he definitely wouldn’t start there. I’m not sure on if Butler has one or what his playing time would be like there.
  16. Nice to see some recruits come on board. Next year’s class should be really good for the guys. The have about 4 guys that have already been fast enough to have scored at Big Tens including 2 guys ranked in the top 10. The top guy has been fast enough score at NCAAs already. Also worth noting a guy from my HS is committed.
  17. I’m curious to see how schools like UNC (and inevitably Duke and ‘Cuse soon) handle these searches. Unfortunately as IU fans we’ve gotten pretty experienced with them. The bottom line is that it’s not as easy as it seems. Every realistic coach has questions and concerns.
  18. I’ve never done whole hog, but that sounds fantastic. Count me in. As far as BS goes, I can’t seem to count him out. I also can’t tell if it’s because I actually believe it or because I want to.
  19. How are we cooking that pork? Sounds like it has the makings for some great tailgates.
  20. Tough finish but an overall solid meet. That was with a top guy out for the second half of the season. There are definitely pieces coming back for another good run.
  21. Tomer Frankel 9th in 200 Fly in 1:40.68. Burns 7th in 1:40.42. That is moving. Still in 5th with 189 and UL in 6th with 179.
  22. IU still in 5th with 3 events to go. Up 8 on UL and 19 on A&M. I got the stream started for these last few events.
  23. Georgia is 3rd with UL and Tex A&M 6th and 7th. I just skimmed today’s lineup and UGA looks safe but it should be tight for 5th. NC State, OSU, and Virginia are also close behind.
  24. Looks like Capo ended up 4th and Franzman stayed 12th. The 200 Fr and 400 Medley relays are both tonight. The 800 relay seemed like a pretty solid performance. There were 2 Fr and no Srs on the team and no one qualified in the individual event unless I missed someone.
