IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving
BeerBQ replied to LIHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
Another big time transfer coming in. Sounds like NIL for swimming is in a great place. https://x.com/swimswamnews/status/1869819430579925067?s=46&t=8dwAUmyol3_UHS__KW8mrg -

It seems like it’s been a constant spiral for him since he left IU. I didn’t realize he was in France now. -

Any word on TV/streaming the game? We’ll be at the football game but plan to bring a tv to the tailgate. -
Anyone have plans for Saturday? I think we’re doing some chicken skewers, hot dogs/brats, and baked potatoes.

I started listening to him a few months ago and he’s fantastic. The whole album is worth checking out. He’s from Seymour and the new album was inspired by his dead. Some of the videos have old footage of them with old IU shirts.

Those clips are always fun to watch. It sounds like they’re doing a practice and pancakes episode there. I always like to see how a practice runs with so many different groups. Ray seems to have built a really good culture of bringing in the right transfers. I’ve heard of them being very selective on who they let join the pro group so that makes sense. It also seems like recruiting has also picked up recently. -

I don’t know how I’ve missed so many updates here. It seems that recruiting is starting to pick up a bit. I stumbled onto this on twitter and it made me laugh. I believe the first comment is from a former IU swimmer and NCAA champion. -

Looks like things ended in a 2-2 tie. That seems like a pretty solid result on the road to a top 5 team. Hopefully it can get some things going. -

I’m getting my setup ready for tomorrow. I think about every major tool company has a system like this. They are great for transporting everything you need.

You should definitely ignore my post. I was in Weber kettle world, which makes sense because that’s where I usually am.

I’ve seen people chop the legs to be a little shorter. If you can sacrifice some space they also make an 18.5” Jumbo Joe that has shorter legs and a lid holder.

My exact thoughts when I first saw that story. Seems like a long shot but why not? He’d get to compete without losing a year and could probably transition to a pro group at the same place. -
Get yourself a 22” Weber Kettle. You can get them used for pretty cheap and they’ll last forever. You can grill or smoke with them. You can’t go wrong with one.

The Basketball Tournament 2024 - Assembly Ball
BeerBQ replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I also heard him mention how TJD was on the Lakers. I switched to the game that was on after and caught twine of the end. The guy on that game said he thought this was the most pure tournament with guys playing for love of the game. He said pros were all about money, college has NIL, and high school wasn’t as important anymore. I think he forgot that they market (and mention every game) that the winning team gets $1million. One of the sponsors is Zelle because they will transfer the money to the winners. There is literally a stat on how much money each player gets if their team wins. -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
BeerBQ replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Once the access increased and the antics didn’t go away it was obvious something like this would happen. The biggest issue I have is they still needing attention by putting out a private conversation and causing more arguing online which will accomplish nothing positive. -

They tried to be insiders, run an NIL collective, unite the fan base with a podcast, give raw unfiltered opinions with the same podcast, and be fans all at the same time. This was never going to work out long term. They were great interviewing players, but they decided to keep expanding. They mention not wanting to make the podcast (they didn’t have to) and always trying to help IU while actively putting out something they know is going to hurt. -

I’ve wondered about this, too. IU does a decent job recruiting the state, but for some reason they don’t have the same success in Hamilton county. I really thought Matheny snuck in 2nd watching live. -

I saw those results but didn’t see any actual races. I hope Cody Miller rebounds in the 200 and makes a team. -

I caught some of the Olympic Trial prelims this morning. 1. Lucas Oil looks awesome with this setup. I was ready to go until I saw the ticket prices. 2. Lily King looked like Lily King. In control the whole race in the 100. 3. Blake Pieroni retired and is back like he didn’t miss a single practice. 4. Anna Peplowski swam a great 200 fr. She stuck close to Ledecky and finished strong. 5. Brendan Burns had great underwaters in the 200 fr. I was surprised to see him entered there. A quick check looks like he’s also in the 100fl/200ba. -

That was interesting. I’m not sure I’ve seen an adticle before. I didn’t realize she had done that either. I don’t think I’ve seen her mentioned in any predictions to make the team. On the men’s side there is another big time transfer coming in. https://swimswam.com/ncaa-champion-zalan-sarkany-announces-transfer-to-indiana-for-2024-2025-season-not-nc-state/
