  1. I am a naysayer, if we win a bunch of games I will say, "Finally" and enjoy it like you will.
  2. It isn't happening. Dolson, if he believes Woodson isn't the guy, probably thinks that his best bet is to kind of let Woodson do his thing and let the chips fall. The donors want to win too, eventually the strings will come with that "donation" to Woodson's NIL too.
  3. I think they did basically say they understood that in the podcast though. What they said was, "Don't cancel these events, get someone else to be the face of them for the fans and players" and Woodson said, "Nah, F that, I got my 2 big donors and I don't need you." Shortsighted and thin skinned. I thought the Hysterics dudes were kind of over the top and annoying, I said awhile ago that the school needed to reel them in. However, this was handled poorly.
  4. Because based on how Woodson has acted, it is believable. Bob Knight got fired from Indiana. If Mike Woodson thinks he is untouchable because of a few donors, he is off his rocker. He is going around making enemies of the type of people who help set the tone for the program. When things go bad, you need people with microphones to have your back. When you don't have enough of them on board, you are putting yourself in a precarious position. He better win big this year because he comes off as an ******* and he is an ******* who doesn't win big enough to have that attitude. Finally, you sent how many direct emails to Dolson asking for Woodson to get fired? You have zero leg to stand on as far as being a level-headed poster.
  5. I think the Hysterics guys are kind of embarassing BUT those events are/were a pretty good way to connect fans to players in an NIL world. I definitely wanted them reined in a bit, but this seems to be a bit of an overreaction. Woodson has an ego that doesn't match his accomplishments. I hope he wins a bunch of games but not a fan, will be happy when he moves on.

  7. I would give Woodson a pat on the back if he did this one...lol.

  9. I hope he goes.
  10. The true fans was directed at Woodson, not you. He is now preaching from their Bible. All the online critics and such, all of them were saying this is a guards game and he was the last guy crawling up the hill with the "big man's game" flag. So after being a complete **** about it, he turns around and says, "Yeah, all you assholes were right..." and then expects to be lauded for stuff that his critics have been pointing out since he got here....well, no. As far as stewing, everything isn't all ****. He has put together a tremendous roster on paper. You will see my most recent posts saying we should be expecting an outstanding year next year. Top 15 in the country type of finish. No hedges on my expectations like Mike's biggest backers quite frequently do. This team should compete for a BIG Ten title, have more than 25 wins, and be a 3 or 4 seed or better in the tournament with expectations to make noise in the tournament. I expect big things. I expect everyone that is supporting Mike to hold him to that high standard. My issue with Woodson is that I view him as a net negative. I think if you give run of the mill NCAA coach his roster, that he will underperform the average. I think a whole bunch of people who want to roll out the pom-poms now think exactly the same. So I guess showing up into the pessimistic thread and wanting to throw shade is asking for a retort. The most pessimistic among us aren't going to be rushing out to clap Woodson on the back until and unless he starts winning at a level that would meet expectations. If he wins next year, I will congratulate him. As far as being miserable, nah, Indiana basketball is such a small part of life. In the offseason I am only checking in here every now and again.
  11. So wait, who are the true fans now then? The people criticizing him for not having that approach that he lambasted at senior night or those who backed him when he was dead wrong? The only talking that matters is Wins. I think he also mentioned at some point at Huber's that having Reneau and Ballo will go good together. Everything remains to be seen. He said he was going to change his approach after TJD left. He didn't. Talk is cheap, wins are what matters.
  12. If his performance isn't up to snuff he will have excuses. "Young team, new faces that need to gel with each other so we can get over the hump...." That is like the sun rising every day.
  13. Indiana is dumb if they don't put the majority of that towards the football team and then rely on NIL to cover for basketball. That being said, I don't know how much longer college sports are going to be interesting. Part of the interest used to be that you would get to see a core group grow and develop with each other. Now it is just dudes in and out. And the Cinderella type of stories are going to be fewer and further between. Those schools don't have huge TV contracts that help them get the $20 million to share. I think the Big Ten is already so big that it isn't a cohesive conference anymore.
  14. Nah, you don't get to make that argument. Mike Woodson's mouthpieces have been all over social media and message boards saying THIS is the plan. THIS is going to make us title contenders and they were just ahead of all of us with their brilliance. You don't get to do that on one hand and then come back talking about too many new pieces. All these new pieces were considered to be the design, not a flaw in it.
  15. People that support Woodson are hedging their bets because they have all watched the same **** as us. With the roster he has put together we should be thinking that we have a BIG title contender and a BIG title contender should be a team capable of doing things in March. People are bringing up 5, 6, and 7 seeds because in the back of their mind they believe Mike Woodson is a net negative as a coach. That isn't enough to get him fired because reasons, but it should be at the point where you question your $10+ million investment into the coach and staff (that is including NIL). If he can't make any noise with a $6 million payroll, he should be told retire and say you got us back on track or we will fire you. To me it is put up or shut up time. The staff was running their mouths in social media through burner accounts. They had people show up places like here to defend the totally awesome job they were doing. The portal is the wave of the future we were told. Mike just needed to get his type of players in here. Cool. That has happened. Now you gotta win dude. You came here to win titles, that doesn't happen if you are struggling your way to 6 seeds and lower. People just covering for the fact that the job he has done to this point has been mediocre at best given the resources. And all this stupid @$$ comparing to past coaches is beyond dumb. No other coach at Indiana has ever had a multimillion dollar payroll to fill out his roster. There is no comparison.
  16. Should be, not could be. There are zero excuses with this roster. Woodson used the resources that Indiana provides a coach to put together a Top 15 roster on paper. We should expect those types of results this year. Expectations should be extremely high.
  17. I think to Steuben's point, Indiana writes off the state basically north of Kokomo by not having any events up this direction. And to be really frank, they don't do much outside of Huber's for anything. (Talking outside of Bloomington)
  18. Take all 3 of them. Has anyone heard anything on Haralson? He seems like the type of kid the staff usually goes heavy after and he is in state as well.
  19. This is where recruiting Freshman comes into play IMO. It is easier to sell a 4* top 75ish guy a developmental role on a loaded team because he still has 4 years of eligibility. Picking up a guy with only a year left to make all the necessary changes that occur with a transfer to then sit the bench for the majority of his time left is a much harder sell. Woodson is either 5* or bust in Freshman recruiting which means we are going to be likely to struggle mightily to fill our last couple scholarships while he is coach. That is unless he figures out a way to add Freshman to his roster that aren't expecting big minutes right away. (And despite what Tucker's Dad may have said, he also mentioned BIG Freshman of the year as a goal. You don't get that riding the bench.) Some of the kids being recruited in the 25 class may fit that sit for a year and learn role, what the staff is able to do there should be telling.
  20. The expectations should be sky high right now.
  21. Everyone else has noticed. Woodson is going to have to truly deliver this year.
  22. I find it funny how the people who are some of the most vehement about some of us taking a crap on Mike Woodson's coaching job last year and how dare we "untrue" fans be so hard on Leal after what he said and then they turn around and have hot takes like, "Cupps sucks and that is why Woodson was no good...." With fans like that talking **** about you online why would players want to play here? Amiright?
  23. Yep, the expectations should be sky high and don't let anyone tell you different. There is no more "they are young" or "lot of new faces" excuses. This is the plan and on paper the rest of the Big Ten is going to have issues rolling out the talent we can, even going into the bench. The expectation should be mid to high 20 wins with 23 being the absolute floor and competitive for a Big Ten title along with making noise in both tournaments. (To me the Big Ten regular season title is going to be really watered down now, schedules are going to be wildly unbalanced.)
