  1. I bet he will have forgotten that substitution lesson by November. He has had to relearn it every year.
  2. Ware just declared for the draft.
  3. Buckle up. Every negative rumor is going to get inflated over the course of the next year. Fair or not, Woodson dropped a nuke on what was left of his goodwill bridge on senior night. He isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt anymore and the real problem he has is that most of the rumors about him are believable based on his public facing actions and words.
  4. Woodson: "Analytics are for nerds. Nerd....now show me how you shoot that 22 foot jumper."
  5. The varsity team was on the court, the JV team wasn't capable of playing in the postseason and working the portal this year so the likelihood that the JV team could be there to watch was pretty low too. I hope the football team takes off and Cignetti goes on a Joe Tiller like run here. I think the men's basketball program is due for a humbling on this campus. They have mostly sucked for 20 years, they don't deserve the support and @$$ kissing they get. Maybe directing some of that goodwill to programs that will actually appreciate it is the way to go.
  6. There were a bunch of "hot" coaches that came off the market the past few days. 2 of them are going to be in our conference next year at Washington and Michigan. I am not looking forward to next year at all. You know there is no plan and frankly it feels like we are just setting ourselves back even more at a time when it is a coaching buying market. I am expecting the typical Indiana thing where we stick with a bad coach one year too long, we don't get any of the pie in the sky "proven coaches" we want, and then we are forced to settle for some guy that excites no one and ends up being another 5 year plug in. I am a doomer at this point. Woodson supposedly taking time off for his birthday when we said we were staying out of a tournament to focus on recruiting is so on brand for him. I literally don't give a **** about what he did in 1980. He just sucks.
  7. Always. Watch him kick our @$$ for the next 20 years. If you have a low opinion of the people who run the show at IU, lower it.
  8. Like Louisville is pulling in the big names? The Bruce Pearl ship is sailing by.
  9. Yeah, when one of the sought after young guys at a time when you REALLY need to move on your coach is an alum and you not only don't get him but you are stuck with the lazy azz you wanted to get rid of in the first place, it tends to piss you off. Hope you feel that generic flavor of the year next year is the answer because the "sure things" aren't leaving their jobs in case you haven't noticed.
  10. Yeah, a guy who was the finalist for Louisville and Michigan and had them in a bidding war to land him is totally not worth firing Woodson for. We are going to be flavor of the month dumpster diving at this time next year. And the same people saying we shouldn't do May will be wishing we had.
  11. Sorry but after spending the past few months defending Woodson, what a sh*t take (and please don't give me the "I would be fine if they moved on" BS). When was the last time your boy, and make no mistake, as far as you climb up his @$$ to defend him, he is your boy, when was the last time he beat Northwestern. Now nothing is a sure thing but this is a total Indiana move that always gets supported by the sunshine pumper fanbase we have. "Gotta give Woody time..." to completely bury the program before we move on. We have done it with every stupid hire we have made since Bob Knight except with the one guy who could actually coach to save his life. I fully expect May to kill it at Michigan because this is the Indiana way. Day late, dollar short and paralyzed to make a move because of optics. The dumbest administrators to ever administrate and so much of our fanbase is responsible not because of their toxicity but because they are trained seals.
  12. Maybe not as bad as us but I think the blue blood days are about over.
  13. In their case, they should be careful what they wish for. There is no sure thing out there anymore. I don't see a dominant mid aged coach out there right now and the whole portal thing has made it much easier for the other bigger schools to correct issues. I hope they move on from Calipari because they are just as likely to end up in a churn and burn period like we have been as they are to pick someone that is making a Final Four run every few years.
  14. Respecting those that built the legacy? Like Brian Evans? Like Dan Dakich? Like Steve Risley? All guys who were part of the program and have expressed displeasure with what Woodson has accomplished. The problem with Woodson isn't even so much his outdated system or his W/L record. The real problem is that he is lazy. He doesn't have the drive to do the things it takes to be a good COLLEGE basketball coach. When you combine that lackadaisical approach with a pretty mediocre coaching record, you get bad results. Quinn and Isaiah and Woodson are program greats. I am 45 years old. One of them played his last game before I was born. The other 2 played in a time I was alive but can't remember (while at IU, I remember Thomas in the NBA, not so much Woodson). "Hey, your great uncle was a great contractor back in the day. You should hire him...." "I did, but he only wanted to work on Monday and Tuesday and he was using hand saws to do all his cuts....my neighbor hired a guy after I hired Uncle Woody and he already has his deck in. All I have is a foundation that isn't level." Past greatness and love for a person and what they have done is not enough to continue to employ them when they aren't doing a good job. Uncle Woody needs to go and do something that he is fully committed to. Loving the idea of being the Indiana Coach isn't the same thing as loving the job. Woody doesn't love the job and that is why he fails.
  15. Post in thread 'Kelvin Sampson' https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/kelvin-sampson.409680/post-12749245 Even they know the score. We aren't toxic.
  16. Rupp's Rafters is currently crashed. It is so bad they had to pull the plug.
  17. Calipari might be available in a year...lol
  18. If Oakland wins, Rupp's Rafters will be worth a look tonight in a "Hey, look at that car wreck" kind of way.
  19. For sure, just saying of we are hiring again in a year, stuff like that doesn't make it any easier to land your guy.
  20. Yeah, there are a few faces that maybe changed but that culture has not. Dolson still there. Quinn still there. I bet if you asked Crean he wouldn't agree with your framing.
  21. That is not something you want out there if you are trying to hire a new guy. "Hey Tom, how was it there?" "Fans were great. Your bosses are toxic as hell though so...."
  22. We could do worse. The main thing I think you would want with Alford is a defensive specialist as an assistant. Assume Neal Craig comes with him and then you would want a recruiter. And I also would not be surprised to see something like that. The chances that this program is a smoldering pile of ash next year aren't low.
