  1. No, the decision is based off of protecting whatever goodwill is left in your product. That isn't an emotional decision on the part of the decision maker. I think any chance of violence is infinitesimally small and isn't more than any other large event gathering. People booing the team every game, chanting for the coach to be fired, doing mass walkouts, etc. are things you don't want to have to try and sell as a decision maker. That is hurting thr brand I have a fiduciary responsibility to protect as one of those decision makers. Emotional responses aren't devoid of logic. The two are not mutually exclusive.
  2. Put a rock there. Who cares? The decision isn't about winning games this season. It is about dialing down the emotions. Turn down the temperature and start talking to people behind the scenes. Put Hunter or Ya in charge. Or don't even fore Woodson. All you have to do is convince the dude to announce his retirement at year end. Mike Davis announced he was leaving during the season and finished out the year and all the craziness kind of died with that announcement. It isn't the who that matters, it is getting the message out there definitively that a new direction is being taken at year end.
  3. Are you familiar with the launch of New Coke? Perception can kill your product. The emotions of the fans (short for fanatics) is THE reason that anybody gives a flying f--- about college sports anyway. The money it brings in because of emotional connections. National media was highlighting how much of an embarrassment that game was. Local media guy put on a national platform the student exodus at halftime. The sales job of "Hey, we are there and we just need a dude to lead us..." becomes much more difficult if that scene plays out at multiple home games to end the year. Honestly, if you are an example of the type of thinking of people in charge, we're f---ed anyways. Not an ounce of business acumen to be found, which is in itself ironic.
  4. They aren't getting things turned around so.....
  5. And look at our next seven games. It is hard to pick one win out of any of the next 7. Not playing like this.
  6. Let Kenya fall on that sword. I don't want any more legendary players getting tossed on the funeral pyre.
  7. **** that guy in particular. ******* clown.
  8. So I am beyond tired of getting embarrassed like this. I don't know why we can't seem to figure out WTF to do with the basketball program. They better bring a f---ing winner in here on this next hire. This sh*t is beyond old.
  9. Yeah, I got no problem with that. All he did was push him.
  10. I think it is him. Either that or there is a network of dudes singing from his hymnal.
  11. I don't think you need a big name coach anymore. You get a system guy and then have people holding a big bag. And the system doesn't necessarily even matter, although I think you take a look at what the SEC is doing right now and emulate that if you ask me....but get a good coach and then back him with money and you should be fine.
  12. Woodson treats IU basketball like a retired guy treats a new hobby. That is the sum total of the issue. As far as Tyme and SDB saying that Woody (anybody really) can't win here because of too many things the fanbase needs to let go of, list them. The people who interfere in the program are the ONLY reason Woodson had the job to begin with. This fanbase took to paying players like gangbusters. I think the kind of style of play that would interest people is the kind that ends with Indiana having more points at the end of the majority of their games than their opponents. What traditions are still around that are holding the team back? The candy striped pants? No names on the back? The cheerleader outfits? I mean, that would be some dumb ahit to argue but they are free to. Honestly, what it all comes down to is the people who have run this **** show for so long have done such a terrific job of completely ruining the brand that they need the fan base to bot drop all expectations while also continuing to support them like a top tier program. Those two dumbasses hopefully don't speak for the program in any down low official capacity because they both are losers with a losers mentality. Although that would explain the past two decades if they are involved.
  13. It is always the IF. The IF is the problem. The people who always insert themselves into this are the IF and the reason why this has been a two decade exercise in futility.
  14. It will be awhile before he is back. The schedule just gets harder.
  15. https://x.com/Tyler_T15/status/1878289154372415833 So I am not even Mgbako and this **** irritates me. You would think at some point that some of these dudes would have some pride in themselves to stop getting clowned by average @$$ teams like Iowa. Same for Mike f'n Woodson. How that dude can sit around, year after year and allow his teams to get clowned KNOWING what this program is supposed to be is infuriating. The morons with money who gave him another chance show that you don't have to have a brain to be rich. And many of them are older than me. They saw the 3 titles. They know what a wrll run program looks like. They KNEW this lazy dumb@$$ wasn't the guy and they bought him another year to cement that fact. I am just so f---ing tired of the people that run this place making this harder than it has to be. None of them have any shame. None of them have any pride in what we should be. They are just robots who throw on the costume of a dead man's program every year and then put it through the motions. I don't care what Dolson did in football, I have zero faith that anybody attached to this two decades long fiasco in any way is going to be able to figure this out.
  16. The fools gold of the bottom of the conference has passed. We got 11 more teams as good or better than us one after the other after the other. Woodson sucks.
  17. It is semi pro, salaries matter here like they do in the pros.
  18. Competitive with Iowa is such a pathetically low bar. This is a $6 million team.
  19. Adjust as needed. I think to keep the locker room happy, you will have to have a little overlap.
  20. Yes this. I was thinking if you get them both about 25 minutes a game that we should be good. Have about 5 minutes where they overlap and then sell each of them on the fact, starting or not, you are our featured big for about half a game.
  21. Well with all the snow he might slip and break a hip.....
