  1. For S&G I went and looked back at some of the preseason predictions. Good stuff. When it came to IU, many of them were "just a bit outside," like Vaughn in Major League. A couple of the worst. Only 15 spots off for IU: https://athlonsports.com/college-football/big-ten-football-2024-predictions#gid=ci02e10e3b700025c7&pid=big-ten-football-2024-predictions https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10132265-big-ten-football-preview-and-predictions-for-2024-season Slightly better at 16th: https://www.si.com/college/michigan/football/predicting-every-big-ten-football-team-s-record-in-2024-michigan-ohio-state-washington-usc-ucla-iowa-oregon-wisconsin-illinois-indiana-michigan-state A bit better. They at least had IU as one of the most underrated teams, yet none of them picked IU higher than 11th: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-ten-expert-picks-2024-most-overrated-and-underrated-teams-projected-order-of-finish-bold-predictions/
  2. You should talk to @Class of '66 Old Fart since I remember him threatening a while back to ban people for talking about a certain Butler ex-coach.
  3. Overpaying him in the process. Then they turned around and gave him a raise simply for not being Archie Miller even though there was no risk of him leaving.
  4. I may be remembering incorrectly or possibly CCC was being coy and not giving out more info than he needed to but didn't CCC pretty much say that neither Rourke or TJ had really separated themselves from the other in the spring and preseason practices? I do remember he didn't announce a starter until close to the first game.
  5. I want Clemson to win to knock Alabama out of the CFP. The tears of all these SEC shills would be sweet. They're getting very annoying now, like mosquitoes buzzing in my ears. I do love all the comments thrashing the article and its author.
  6. I count 5 games if they don't have a bye.
  7. Shrewsberry is a proven power conference coach? Yes, it's proven that he's had jobs in power conferences, a whopping 3 years and change at 2 schools. Proven that he can win big or even consistently in a power conference? No, not even close. He did decent at Penn State considering how bad they usually are. Still only won 54.4% of his games there overall and 42.5% of Big Ten games (highest finish was 9th). At Notre Dame he's won 40.5% of his games overall and 35% of his ACC games. I just don't understand the lovefest this guy gets on this board. He hasn't spent more than 2 years at any head coaching job yet and hasn't done a great job at any of them since the best he did was a decent job at PSU. A terrible record at IUSB (23.8%). It's extremely clear he isn't a guy that can turn a program around quickly, much less whether he can turn one around at all. He'd be a nightmare hire since even if he's not winning in year 3 people would be saying that he just needs more time based on his previous jobs. Potential only but hasn't shown he can reach that potential.
  8. I've wondered before about how someone so thin-skinned survived as HC in NY. I have come to believe that it's because he's completely oblivious to those who aren't in his immediate circle.
  9. Yeah, it was kind of weird. Maybe they were trying to get an open shot for a specific player or maybe the ones passing up the open shots weren't the best shooters. I know the current IU team couldn't make that many passes in a single possession. They'd turn it over before they got anywhere close.
  10. They think all the at large bids should go to SEC teams. All the other conferences, including the B1G, aren't good in their opinion.
  11. Dolson has shown he is willing to spend money to win. Some actual footage of him in a strategy meeting:
  12. That's Cignetti's own stated preference straight from his mouth which matches with the players he ended up bringing in from the portal. I want high end talent but I trust this coaching staff to identify talent that fits.
  13. Probably had more than 10 hours rest, too.
  14. Did they play? If not, he probably won't go after them going by his statements and last year. He likes production over potential.
  15. I'd start the fire thread the minute it was announced.
  16. "At some point." So when he was at Butler? That would make sense. Now or in the recent past? That wouldn't make sense.
  17. That wasn't my point. I agree that IU was under-represented on the offensive side. My point was that it wasn't as bad as it at first looks. IU has an average of 2.5 players on the teams which seems low for one of the best offenses in the league. I guess that's a testament of how good the coaching staff is since they're doing more with less.
  18. It's offense only. I would add that some are being counted double by Stuhoo. McLaughlin from OSU, for example, is on both the 1st team (coaches) and 2nd team (media) which he is counting as 2.
  19. I was on that board until a few years ago and I don't miss it. That describes multiple posters on there. The first one that comes to mind is Cavanagh but from what I remember he's way more combative than this poster.
  20. They lost to Northern Illinois at home. That doesn't seem legit to me. Other games of note: beat UL by only 7 at home and more recently only beat a very mediocre USC by 14. The only impressive win they have is the one at A&M to start the season. They've blown out some bad teams. I'm just unconvinced they're for real. Just like most years, they're fool's gold and will get embarrassed in the CFP if they win their home game. Which is a big if.
  21. And they're very overrated. That's the game I hope IU gets.
  22. Probably intentional if true.
  23. Only at "lesser" High Major level like the B1G. Not in the almighty SEC where even losses are wins.
  24. 3-point shooter. No wonder Woodson blew him off.
