  1. The only real negative to his game is that that he turns it over too much (3 per game entering today). That is fixable.
  2. Yep. Race, Kopp, and XJ are out of eligibility after this year. TJD has 1 year more if he wants it, 99% chance he's gone. JHS likely 1 and done. The players that might return don't look very good and we didn't have a lot of individual improvement during this past offseason so I'm not going to hold my breath hoping for that.
  3. And... I'm out. Better stuff to do than watch this.
  4. I guess we just have to hope that NW falls in love with the 3 but goes cold. Our D keeps leaving them open so it's not going to stop them.
  5. No defense. At all. Terrible start.
  6. IU trying to get out of the their 3 almost guaranteed losses to UL. https://www.wdrb.com/sports/source-indiana-asks-louisville-about-canceling-3-game-football-series/article_4424c430-8ed4-11ed-8845-73ae1ab0b15e.html Edit: saw this was already in another thread.
  7. For every good play JG makes, he makes 2-3 bad ones.
  8. Yep. As soon as he catches a pass I know there only only 2 ways it's coming out of his hands: a shot (which is usually a bad shot) or a turnover.
  9. Another way to look at it is that without TJD or some other skilled big on the inside there is no need for the defense to worry about that so they can stretch to put more pressure on the perimeter. In other words, without TJD it might be harder to get good looks from the perimeter.
  10. The competition is better than early in the season. Also, more games to use for scouting reports on him.
  11. Also losing Kopp. So best case is "just" losing 4 starters. With these injuries we've gotten some glimpses of what the team might look like next year and the results haven't inspired confidence in me.
  12. You choose to come to message boards. You can unfollow people who talk about sports on social media so you don't see their criticisms (or just not go social media sites). Plus, letting others' opinions bother you is also your choice. So if it's not as fun because of those things that's on you.
  13. They also have a more recent NC than IU and have been to multiple FF since IU's last one. UCLA post HoF coach > IU post HoF coach
  14. Howland was at UCLA for 10 years and all 3 of those Final Fours were during the first 5 years. The second 5 years there, the winning percentage dropped as well as no NCAAT success: 1 year missed tournament and 1st or 2nd round loses the other 4 years. Howland also seemed to lose the team's confidence and IIRC there were some major transfers out of the program. So it was those 5 years and the negative momentum of the program which got him canned, not that 3 Final Fours weren't good enough.
  15. Yep, good teams can overcome injuries and still be good. In '93, IU loses one of the better players in IU history (top 10? 15? 20?) when Henderson blew it his knee. They still won the conference (with only 1 loss), got a #1 seed, and made it to the elite eight. That was a much better team than this one before the season which is why they could overcome it and this team can't.
  16. Ugh. Peegs and his team with the annoying cryptic sayings.
  17. The problem is they need to get enough wins to make the tournament. If they don't they aren't scary to anyone regardless how good they may be at that time. Winning on the road it tough but this was a very winnable game, even with the injuries. Iowa just isn't very good this year.
  18. One play that really stands out in my mind concerning effort last night happened early in the second half. Iowa missed a shot and the rebound went a little long. 4 IU players just stood there and watched the ball hit the ground. Only 1 IU player, I think it was Kopp, made any effort to get it. He had to run over from 10-15 feet away. 2-3 other IU players were closer and should've gotten to it first but they just stood still. It was ridiculous.
  19. We've been hearing about that promise based purely on his athleticism for 3 years now. He's not VO and hasn't developed into a good player. It seems for every good play he makes he offsets that with 2-3 bad plays.
  20. Top 25 defense when healthy, sure. Now? No way with XJ out, TJD with lingering health issues, and now Race is injured. They gave up 91 points and let Iowa shoot almost 48%. That's not a top 25 defensive effort. It's also just a matter of time before JHS starts having back spasms òr Galloway gets injured again.
  21. Leaving Murray wide open is not a good idea. Whose blown assignment?
