~1/3 of those are probably in threads complaining about coaches or wanting them fired.

Oh good, the "Which of our last 2 terrible coaches was worse?" conversation again. They both sucked and got more time at IU than was warranted. I'm glad they're gone, along with pretty much everyone that was in the program under either one of them.

We're really swinging for the fences in recruiting. We'll see how it works out with this staff. They do seem to be doing a good of getting traction and turning that into visits. There's always the portal in they can't land a few. -

Aaron Shackell joins his siblings at IU which is unsurprising. I'm happy but skeptical, just like when his siblings joined since this family seems to have real commitment issues when it comes to universities. https://swimswam.com/us-olympian-aaron-shackell-announces-he-will-transfer-to-indiana/ -

I often wonder why football players even bother announcing commitments since they just seem to be more of who the current leader is since flipping in football is so common. Good for him getting to play for his dream school. One thing that seemed odd was he says he's never been a big sports fan yet he's going to be a high major college player. -

I understand that it's the home school, but a recruit choosing St Joe's over IU would be a kick in the nuts. I'd still be surprised if it's not UT or IU. I think (with no evidence other than last visit right before the announcement and longer relationship with the staff/HC) that UT is the likely choice but IU is first in the picture and he does seem to be looking at himself in the IU uniform so.... -
An hour after NC St landed Scottie Ebube, a transfer center from Wyoming. lol

We're not Duke so we're not going to have a roster full of top 30 players. This guy is 6'7" who has PG skills since he played that position until a growth spurt. Ranked in the top 100 in the 247 composite ranking and has multiple other P5 offers, including Auburn who has been quite good under Pearl. I'm not really sure what there is to be so skeptical about but you don't seem to like much of what this staff has done so I guess that makes sense. If it makes you feel better, I suspect that he'll end up at Texas so you won't have to worry about it. That staff has been recruiting him longer and he visits them right before announcing his decision. -

Rabby says he might be making an unofficial visit to IU next week in addition to the OV in September. -
From what I've seen, it sounds like up to $2.5M in scholarships above the old roster limit will count against the amount of revenue sharing a school can pay. In effect, revenue sharing is used to pay for the scholarships. That's my understanding, at least. So NIL paying for school with no scholarship or revenue sharing paying for the scholarship seems like basically the same thing. https://businessofcollegesports.com/other/new-roster-limits-set-by-house-v-ncaa/ New Scholarships Can Be Created It’s not all bad news. Schools do have the option to increase scholarships in sports where the previous scholarship limits were lower than the new roster limits. It was initially anticipated that not many would do this, as the value of new scholarships up to $2.5 million will count against the amount a school can distribute for revenue sharing.

I like this pick up from out of the blue. Another shooter and a combo guard with good size. He'll also be 20 at the start of the season with experience against players in the top Serbian league. From looking at his stats it looks like he is a decent rebounder for a guard, is a willing passer, and can get steals (although not consistently). It looks like he can get a bit sloppy with the ball, though. I guess consistency might be something he needs to work on. Edit: Reading on peegs that he's expected to be a depth/development player next year so don't expect too much in year 1. -
It's new to football. They previously had to be full scholarship or no scholarship for a few sports like football and basketball. Other sports already had partial scholarships.

Interesting. He's a high 3*/low 4* but his offer list looks like someone who is top 30. One that the schools think the recruiting services have missed on, it looks like. -

Has on OV to IU set for next week, June 17-18. In addition to the prior relationship with Clark, he also knows Kenny Johnson. Says he's "my guy" and was recruiting him for GT. -
I saw that the change for the women included a technical if they lost the challenge. Kind of dumb. It's not like they have a bunch of challenges they can use to abuse the system, just the 1. Edit: I read the release from the NCAA. This actually makes sense. The women don't need a timeout to challenge, but if they do that then fail the challenge they'll be assessed the technical for excessive timeouts. So they actually have more options to use the challenge than the men do. The wording from the release: Teams will not be required to have a timeout to make a video review challenge in NCAA women's basketball competition. However, a failed challenge will result in a technical foul for an excessive timeout.

He injured his knee at the end of last season so he wouldn't have played or practiced this season. He is temporarily off the roster because of that. He is still helping out with the team as a student coach. The expectation is that he'll be back on the roster in 2026.

That's even more shocking than Jonathan Sanderson and Gan-Erdene Solongo both committing to Notre Dame.

Moody was initially ranked by 247 and the 247 composite in the top 70. I guess inconsistent play caused him to drop to his current ranking. So if he can fix that, he should be able to move up quite a bit. -

Josh Matheny wins the 200 breast at Nationals. He was good in the NCAA but has always been a better LCM swimmer than SCY. -

The trend of getting quality distance swimmer recruits continues, this time for the women. It looks like she actually flipped back in January. https://swimswam.com/canadian-olympic-trials-finalist-laila-oravsky-flips-commitment-from-florida-to-indiana/
