(2023) - SG Jamie Kaiser Jr. to Maryland

But the Virginia jersey does have #1 on it, while IU and Maryland are 11(?) And 10, respectively. Lol

You think that after 1 year under Woodson we should already be having the same recruiting results as the top programs after 2 decades of being mostly irrelevant? Wow. Maybe your expectations are a bit too high. Woodson has had some good success so far at recruiting. It's kind of funny that the sky is suddenly falling after rumors of missing out on 2 good but not great recruits.

    NIL and IU

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/some-premier-college-athletes-face-option-to-exchange-nil-riches-for-portion-of-future-earnings/ I'm not sure I'd be willing to sacrifice future earnings if I was in their spot.

UCLA and USC Joining the Big Ten

I just saw that the Big 12 is supposedly trying to poach Minnesota from the B1G. Won't happen because UM won't take the pay cut.

(2023) - C Xavier Booker to Michigan State

That pretty well sums up how I feel about him. He has the potential to be a really great player but it says a lot when a player his size with his skillset doesn't attract much interest from schools like Duke, UNC, UK, KU. He had offers from 2 of those but they didn't recruit him hard. I see his recruitment as similar to Lander - highly ranked but ignored by those blue bloods. I'm not upset about missing on him, I don't think he'll come close to realizing his potential. Even when he exploded, it was in AAU ball and not high school. Not as much defense being played, less (or no?) scouting, teams aren't as cohesive, etc.

I haven't watched but I would understand if that was the case. He probably went in expecting to talk about basketball and offseason training a lot.

Yeah, IU had a very good chance of landing him. The article was incorrect about him and EJ being HS teammates but they were good friends. Maybe they played AAU together, I don't remember.

2 crystal ball picks for MSU. 1 is from an MSU homer but the other is Travis Branham who gave it a 7 confidence.

That was my first thought when I saw the list. Certainly not a normal lousy for a top 5 player at any position but certainly not one for a top 5 big. I had flashbacks to Lander's list which was not impressive for a 5* player. This case is a bit different with Duke and Kansas at least offering but I don't think they recruited him hard. I'm still not sold on him so I won't be very disappointed if he goes elsewhere. He's killing it in AAU games but still didn't have super impressive numbers this past HS season - which a 5* 6'11" who has range should be able to easily do.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/the-transfer-portal-is-about-to-get-even-wilder-when-the-ncaa-allows-players-to-transfer-multiple-times/amp/ So it's about to become unlimited immediate eligibility transfers. How long before schools want to start paying the players so they can sign them to professional contracts? Lol

Yeah. It's unclear but I take the pessimistic view based on, "they're still involved." That doesn't sound too promising even though the rest was positive.

    2022 AAU Season

From my understanding, not many schools are recruiting him. Not because he isn't talented, but because it's wisely thought he is linked with Adams. So a school would have to hire him to get the big guy.

    JG on expanding his game

I am very high on Reneau and Bates. I think both will have big seasons. I agree with you on JG. I'll believe it when I see it as far as him playing the 3.
