  1. X=ln(sqrt(42.3))/5
  2. I agree with the length but can't agree with the weight vs mass. Weight is just a way of measuring mass as effected by gravity. Since gravity is the same for everyone, more weight = more mass and equal weight means equal mass. What weight/mass don't tell you is strength or what that mass is made of (fat or muscle) so two people of equal weights could still be quite different in makeup.
  3. I disagree. I like them.
  4. They have the men at #4 (and I see Purdue dropped out of the rankings): https://swimswam.com/2023-24-ncaa-mens-power-rankings-december-edition/ Women at #9: https://swimswam.com/2023-24-ncaa-womens-power-rankings-december-edition/
  5. JHS was already on the radar by this point in the season. He really impressed a lot of scouts at the the Pro Day. This year it was pretty quiet after that so I'm guessing MM didn't do as well.
  6. Indeed. They should've at least done a real coaching search. But since they didn't he still should've been fired earlier just based on performance.
  7. So you agree they kept Davis around too long. You also say that the others shouldn't have been kept longer. So even if you think they didn't keep Crean and Miller around too long, you do agree that they kept 1/3 of the coaches they fired for performance too long and didn't fire the other 2 too early. In other words, you throw out an argument like you did to say IU doesn't hold on to coaches too long but when broken down you actually agree that they do at least some of the time and don't fire them too soon.
  8. Counting DD disingenuous and intentionally skews the numbers. He was just an interim HC. Let's look at them: Davis: '00-'06. In '03-'04 went 14-15 then the next year 15-14. He still wasn't fired so he was kept around at least 1 year too long although an argument could be made that he should've been let go even earlier. Sampson: Less than 2 seasons as HC. We know why he was fired and it had nothing to do with his W-L record. Crean: '08-'17. Up and down the whole time. It was obvious the whole time he wouldn't be able to consistently field a good team and make the tournament. There are many points in his time at IU that he could've justifiably been fired for that lack of consistency. Especially when you look at APR and player arrests during his time. Miller: '17-'21. Never performed well and looked completely lost while doing so. Should have been fired 1 or 2 years before he was. Which of these coaches do you think should have been kept longer?
  9. Probably. I would hope a person wouldn't do it that poorly.
  10. Umm, the field in that picture. Has the person who made it never seen a football field? it makes my head hurt with how bad it is.
  11. I hope not. I wasn't really enamored with him before he turned out to be a woman beater, now I despise him. I'd have to stop watching IU basketball if he became the coach. I don't see that happening, though.
  12. "Better than Gunn" is a pretty low bar.
  13. The point being that with freshmen you don't know what to expect. Even if they live up to their promise, it usually isn't from the start. So bringing in someone that has already shown he can make shots in college would be preferable to another freshman.
  14. One who has proven to be good at the collegiate level would be nice. Mgbako was considered a great shooter and scorer but he's shooting 24% from 3.
  15. Hate to break it to you, but you're old too. I'm a bit younger than you guys but I'm old, too. On the bright side, we're just old and not dinosaurs like Old Fart.
  16. What's making you feel old is being old.
  17. Weird move. Must have been offered a lot of money. I don't think he'll mind having less pressure since it's thought one of the reasons he OSU was the possibility of a QB competition.
  18. It makes no sense that people are trying to place any of the blame of this team on Miller. I'm not surprised though, people did the same with Crean when Miller was coach. They can't come up with a good way to defend the current coach so they blame the previous one.
  19. I only watched a few minutes of the game but what I saw was discouraging. I got home and turned on the game when IU was up by double digits with under 10 minutes in the second half. I turned it off a few minutes later with IU up only 2 or 3 points. I've seen IU collapse too many times in the last 25 years to waste time watching another one. My 5 year old son asked me why I turned it off and I told him I didn't feel like watching IU play poorly so I just played with him instead. Better use of time.
  20. I saw that a decision is expected within the next week during the signing period.
  21. I guess he starts the recruiting early. I like the confidence that he'll be coaching when those babies are college students.
  22. I'm sure some of the fans that yearn for the simpler, cleaner time in sports that never really was will not like this but I'm glad IU is finally being proactive in trying to land transfers. That they're in bowl games says they're coming from programs that can win which should help the culture.
  23. It's still IU football until proven otherwise so I don't expect this to happen, but there are definitely at least 6 winnable games on that schedule.
  24. CCC is said to be a good evaluator of talent and his history seems to back that up.
